I want to give in but I don't want to give into temptation... Partly due to something I wrote last night

....well ... I guess I have to start from day one tomorrow. ...Tomorrow is a new day ...... I was having a damn good run too ...just past the 6 month hump too... Last week not so well.. A couple puff here and a couple puffs there ...damn ganj. - My always tempting mistress

... I guess I have to brush myself off, picked my head up and chalk it up to experience ...to not to give in again.

Doing pretty good lately. I had almost 9 months clean. I slipped up a few weeks back, whilst visiting my Dad out of town. I came home the next day, feeling awful about myself. I am proud of myself for coming home, realizing that I screwed up, and not doing it again. I thought that I could drink a little bit, but as an addict, alcohol did nothing but loosing me up to do the stuff I know I can't do. I have made the decision to totally abstain from alcohol as well.

So I failed my initial day one. But oh well I'm trying again today. 11 hrs so far. We can do this. It's nice to know I'm not alone in the struggle to quit.

It's so damn hard. Doable but very hard. Abstaining was the easiest part for me, trying to figure out how to deal with daily life and a mountain of emotional problems whilst sober had been the hard part. I can only do it one day at a time.
