I have severe pain in my arms and upper legs. I hurt a lot.... mostly all day. I also have muscle weakness. Does anyone else go through this? If so, could you tell me what you do to cope with it better? Any tips or hints?

Thanks, Sharon

Hi Sharon and welcome to the forums.

When my anxiety is at its worst I get severe back and neck pain. I have tried heating pads, cold packs, advil and finally it was so bad I had to go to see my GP. He sent me away with a pamphlet of excersizes and an RX for flexeril.

Of course those are only temporary remedies. Have you seen a doc? First I would suggest ruling out any other conditions. I know that stress and anxiety can reek havoc on our bodies and our minds.

I hope you are feeling relief soon.

Huggles,

Jen

Sharon, have you talked to your doctor about this? I only ask because sometimes these things have a biological basis and meds or surgery can help. If it turns out to be caused by anxiety, I would suggest seeing a good hypnotherapist; when meds aren't an option, hypnosis can be really good for pain management.

YES, what you are feeling and going through is REAL PAIN with in your body, brought on by the mind (psychosomatic) and not that of an actual physical problem....
I went through this for 6 months straight when my handicap daughter was born and while no one else could find the reason for any physical pain it was my gynecologist that asked me about my personal life and any stress I was under - then BINGO!! - we located the emotional source and heal the mind.... all was well, but once again.

Feelings that have no way out will come out in the form of PAIN or HEALTH PROBLEMS.
