Hi steph,

There are many. Sweating, tingling, feeling like your having a heart attack, dizziness, shortness of breath, etc. Personally, I get tingling in my arms and legs and I feel like I'm going to jump out of my skin.

All of the above...

The ones that I suffer from Daily.. almost 24\7 now, are the

dizziness
off balance feeling
nausea

I'd go months with 24\7 breathing problems,, well feeling like I was going to pass out ,because I wasn't breathing properly

Now its the dizzy off balance feelings.. althouhg I know its anxiety not only from tests, but when I am doing something that I truly love, I don't notice any of it!! what r the physical symtoms that arise with anxiety ???

Isn't it amazing what a little distraction can do. what r the physical symtoms that arise with anxiety ???

My symptoms also either disappear or are very mild when I'm not thinking about it (which, unfortunately is rare)

The list is endless for me but to name a few:

Lightheadedness

Dizzy

Afraid

feeling like I am going crazy

Sweating

trouble focusing (vision)

Detached

Feeling like I am dying

Trouble breathing

throat tightning

numbness in my limbs (arms and legs, sometimes neck)

heart pounding

frequent, frequent, frequent urination (embarressing)

shaking

trembling

Over time I have learned that these symptoms wont harm me although when in the moment it is hard to remember that. I try my hardest to breath slowley. In the beginning I would literally run around trying to get away but I have trained myself to stay put and that is the hardest thing to do. Most of my attacks happen at night. Sometimes out of a sound sleep. When that happens I want to run downstairs to the living room (I used to do that all the time). Now, I stay put and ride it out. I know it sounds easy but it isnt. Not by a long shot. I think that over time we are used to the symptoms and somewhere in our minds we know what we will be ok, although, like I said, in the moment I forget that.

I know how afraid you must be. Panic attacks are so ovwewleming for our bodies and our minds. Just try to relax yourself as much as possible.

Try long hot baths. Relaxation CD's (at Target they are inexpensive). Play games like word searches to get your mind off of your anxiety.

There are many various symptoms that come along with anxiety. First there's the emotional, then the physical.

I know for me I get the following symptoms:

1. tremors
2. nausea
3. disorientation
4. rocking back and forth
5. sweating
6. increased heart rate
7. rapid breathing
8. heaviness in my chest
9. paranoia
10. headaches
11. chest pains
12. dizziness

Those are just to name a few.

Coloring in a coloring book is an excellent way to take your mind off things. I actually think its a good thing to feel like a kid again. Too much adult stuff all the time. We need time to ecape too.

I remember I took up Oragami to help ease my anxiety. That helped tons. I wish you peace and please post as often as needed.

i found that the clonazepam works really well for me. Actually it is the best med i have found for my PA's and I have tried ALOT! The only side effect for me is it makes me sleepy which is actually good for me!

hey steph/all -

I'll list mine in a pseudo-order of how bad they are; they aren't necessarily always this way, but for the most part:

- shaking to the point I can't stand, especially legs
- everything around me gets so LOUD
- my heart beats out of my chest, sometimes so bad that I know I am going to have a heart attack
- short, rapid breathing and coughing like an asthma attack
- running, well forcing myself to try to (hard to do bcuz of phsycial issues)
- trying to find a 'safe zone' ASAP, i.e. my house or bedroom
- can't speak bcuz I'm too concerned with the things I've mentioned above and I MUST get to a 'hiding spot' ASAP to get it to subside
- dropping items that I pick up or try to pick up bcuz of shaking so bad
- LITERALLY counting seconds while I wait for a xanax to start working

These are about all I can think of bcuz just typing all that has given me the shakes!!! I swear I'm such a basket case and do not know why I even wake up in the AM anymore..... At 28 years old, I do NOT want to keep on doing this for the rest of my life... Wednesday cannot get here quick enough (next therpist appt.) and even that will take days of 'gearing up' to ensure I get there...
