It all starts with being layed off from my job, then called back just to be layed off again when the plant closes. But thats just the beginning of it. This is not just any job, it is a very high paying job (26.00 + an hr). I got layed off last Feb. I had just got started in my first quarter of school when I was called back to work. I have to back until the end in order to recieve my serverance which is 14 weeks full time pay plus 10,000.00. When I returned to work I learned that that we were running machines for people who received jobs in North Carolina, in which, the company RJReynolds is buying their homes and paying all relocating fees. Of course, this has everybody going belistic not knowing why some people were chosen over others. The company is still making a few offers here and there. Now my husband left a week ago last Wednesday and will not talk to me or see me. He comes when I am not home to get his things. I just cannot face it that he doesn't love me. My back has been hurting for a while, but now I cannot get up sometimes. I am so alone. I don't even know where to begin to go for help.

Deb, I think back pain can be triggered by stress and then the muscles take over. The first thing I would do is have a conversation with your doc about how you are feeling, both medically and emotionally. Sounds like you have had a very tough time and i am sorry for that. You don't have to be alone either. You may have depression which is causing you to alientate yourself from other people. Go speak with your doc and get a referral for a therapist to help you work through all of this.

Yes, all this stuff cancause physical pain, triggering chemical imbalances in the brain and entire body, which in turn causes many things to occur, or some lucky people go unscathed. I have to run, but wanted to tell you "yes" all the stress and depression can take a physical toll on our bodies

Hi deb4,
It sounds like you are in a hard place, and all the tension you have been under will be showing up in your body, it's a natural reaction. Some crisis counselling might be a good thing at the moment and I would recommend using this forum as much as you need to. The people here are supportive and it gets better if you stay with us. Good luck, Myzen ![]() |

From my experience, anxiety, stress and depression is an unbearable load for you to carry emotionally, so it starts to affect you physically. Muscle tension and feeling shaky are the big ones here for anxiety sufferers. Try that muscle relaxation technique where you squeeze and hold your muscles and then relax. May not be ideal for your situation but it does work at helping you feel relaxed. Hope that helped
Cheers, Peter
