Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. I have been on Lovan (prozac) for 2 and a half weeks for anxiety. I am not having panic attacks or significant anxiety attacks at all anymore, but I feel so weird. It's so hard to explain, it's like I am really out of it or not really here. I get confused really easily by things people say, and it's almost like I have heard what they have said before and they are saying it again or something... I can't really explain it very well!!

I feel like if this constant feeling would go away I would be fine. Maybe it is anxiety that I am still experiencing?? My inital anxiety and panic attacks were very severe, but would go in and out of these anxious states, that isn't happening to me at all anymore, but I just don't feel real or something... like all this has been a dream or I am in a bubble and I can't get out....

Would it be the medication? Or still constant anxiety?

If anyone feels or has felt this way, I would love to know!!

Thanks

Kel

I had that "not really here" feeling before going on meds. Mine was due to the anxiety.

I have th same feeling as you, Kellarella, a feeling of not quite being there, not living in my body, not experiencing the things that really are going on around me..it's a scary feeling of not being in my very own body. When things start to go better again, then, slowly, I feel more about the here & now instead of my past, in my past my kids were ripped away from me. I'm learning more and more not to live in obssession of my issues, not build a wall between me and the world.

prozac made me feel all kinds of weird stuff. contact your prescribing professional. there are some people that cannot take prozac due to allergies or other problems that prozac interfers with. maybe there is something else that professional can put you on. Also it usually takes about 4-6 weeks for aintdepressants to adjust in the body. so it may als be that your body is trying to adjust. and again a treatment professional can go into more detail on what to expect during the adjustment of the first 4-6 weeks.

Thanks for all your replies!

I did see my therapist yesterday, and was going to start EMDR, but we put it off until I see psychiatrist and get off this medication. I have never been so scared in my life, I feel so unreal, and it is scaring me so much. When i think about my life, it feels like I am not even in it!! I really don't know whether it is the medication, but my therapist said the only way we will know is to go off them and continue CBT....
