HI im new to this site and to psych stuff have been reading over some of my Mother-Inlaws old Psych books she is a psych nurse thought about asking her this question but i dont want to bug her with this stuff (she is so sweet) . My Dr (a very small Town Doc) said that i might have a Anxiety problem and gave me Lexapro to help me sleep at night , was wondering if Anxiety give you a very bad rash and bubbles on the skin or could make you see things and hear things that no one els can see/hear well not sure how to say this :/ not used to talking about it .. My Dad's Doc (he seems smart) as given my dad less then a year to live he has Crossus of the liver (no i cant spell it rigth) my family is my friends and my dad is one of my best friends if you dont mind please keep my dad in your prayers thank you and God bless

Yes, anxiety can make you hallucinate. It can do a lot of things that aren't just physical symptoms.

Sorry to hear you are going through this...it must be really hard for you.

i'm so sorry that you're having such a hard time right now.

a thought..did you hallucinate before or after you started the Lexapro? the reason i am curious is because a new med, for me, causes me to have horrible dreams.......

your dad will be in my thoughts and i'm sending positive vibes to help you deal with all you are burdened with right now. xoxoxo ethel/pat

Welcome again. Yes, worry can be at the root of all types of physical reactions. That seems to be alot of things to be anxious about, imo. HI can Anxiety make you see things?

Welcome to PC! I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I have to agree with what others have said. I think anxiety and stress can definitely manifest physical issues. I tend to hear things that others don't when I have panic attacks.

I really don't think anxiety can make you see/hear things. I've spoken to many, many doctors about this (hallucinating is one of my fears, after all.), read many books... All of them say it's impossible.

However, anxiety does make your senses extremely sensitive, so much so that a noise someone would normally pay no attention to would seem very loud to you. Noises louder, lights brighter, spots in your eyes (or 'floaters') seem more like 'shadows'.

Who knows.
