Hello.I am writing to you all guys,so that you could help me with some advices.(Sorry for my mistakes,i am not english,i'm from Latvia, but now living in UK)
So,i have an social phobia.Sadly, the therapists didn't answer my question here in section Ask the therapists. But i don't need that answer anymore realy.I was asking about tablets from social phobia, what are best. But then i read in the internet, that those tablets have side effects, and when i stop using them,my phobia will return and can become bigger. So i decided not to use these tablets, except beta-blockers.So,i want your advices about those tablets.I know that they only remove physical signs of phobia, but that is good, because my head shakes and even cheeks when i laugh in front of someone. So who knows what beta-blockers is good, please answer! Also i want to know, when i stop using them, will my shaking return?
Allright,now,about psychologists,psychoterapeuts,etc.I can't visit those,because:
1)I don't know english this good to talk to one,and understand him
2)Money
3)I have social anxiety!I'm too afraid to visit one!

So please tell me about beta blockers. Also, maybe some kind of exercises?.....
Hugs from:

Ok... Pharma Gabba is a natural anxiety nutrient that you can get at a vitamin store... That is something that should work... The effects tho may not be enough to combat your symtoms tho

I've heard the beta-blocker propanolol is good for social anxiety. I was on it because I have a tremor (not med related), and I didn't have any side effects. I have heard it also works for anxiety, but at the time I used it for my tremor, I didn't suffer from anxiety. I thought about going back on it because I still have the tremor and I do have really bad social anxiety now as well. Hope this helps.

Welcome to PC. I can't give you any advice on beta-blockers, but I just want to welcome you and give my sympathies. I'd recommend going to a therapist, but I know that's too hard for you at this point. I have a therapist, but I have trouble opening up to her due to my anxiety. And from what I've read, you have much worse anxiety than me.
Just wondering, why did you move to the U.K.?

Allright, now i will answer all 3 of you in one post.
Miswimmy1,when you wrote about pharma gabba i decided to read about it in the internet, what other says. And there wasn't very good responses. They say if it helps reduce anxiety, than only for a little bit, hardly noticing.

agma, yes,i heard about it too,a lot of person recommend it.But propanolol you have to buy with prescription, which is not easy to do(you need to visit doctor, etc). Also there's written, that you can't stop using it,without consulting your doctor(so i need to visit doctor often). Also, you can buy it without prescription(i don't know,it will be the same tablets??)but i don't know about safety(doctor should say how much shoul i use). And i found site, when you're buying propanolol it comes with viagra(Huh,strange connection,right?...)

monkeysocks,i moved to UK,to move from my family,i decided, that i can overcome my social phobia,by living alone. Also,in UK it is easier to find job.And like i said,i don't know english this good,to find therapist in UK.Latvian therapist i don't trust,i haven't heard nothing good about them.I heard about english and also russian therapists. But it's harder to get in russia, also,i need a lot money for that. You see,it is very difficult situation. But somehow i managed to overcome myself and find a job in UK,but it's allmost impossible to find friends in this condition.
IMPORTANT!I found in internet, that serotonin can help overcome anxiety.Who knows something about that?Anyway,i'm ordering today SEROTANE WELLNESS and CELEXIL®.
Thank you all for responses!!!

SocAnx,

Have you looked into any support groups for your social anxiety? I am under the understanding that social anxiety is primarily treated through understanding what your thoughts are when you are anxious and learning the truth about the situations that make you anxious. This can be done primarily through therapy and support groups. I know people who have overcome social anxiety without any medication.

Keep searching and know of my prayers.

One example of a support group for those with social anxiety is social phobics anonymous. If you try Googling on your internet browser the below words you can find this group.

healsocialanxiety

They have phone support groups and face to face groups. Face to face is really what people need, but the phone groups can help too. In addition, groups like Obesessive Compulsive Anonymous call help people with social anxiety.

A therapist can also help you sort out what you are socially anxious.
Keep us updated on how things go. Let me know if you have any other questions.
