I get these horible panic attacks. It gets to the point that I can't breath at all. I get really dizzy and want to pass out. How do you stop them?

I use many things - relaxation visualizations (hypnosis) grounding techniques, and changing activities..

Don't try and fight the panic attacks. Let them come and pass. They can NOT last longer than 10-15 minutes. I notice, personally, if I try and fight them and talk myself out of it, they just get more intense. Just remember that they are harmless, and even as terrifying as they feel, it can't hurt you. Also, after the panic stops, notice that you're okay. You didn't faint, die, go crazy, etc etc.

This will hurt and be very difficult, but to reduce the hyperventilation (which is probably the reason for the dizziness and weakness) is to use deep breathing exercises and to slow your breathing.

Panic attacks are quite terribly, but you do have to go with the flow. Let them come and go.

Something else that you should practice, aside from the deep breathing exercises, is some cognitive thinking. You should start to challenge your negative thoughts.

I'm sorry you are going through this right now.

Hang in there.
