Hi im totally new here, and suffering from bad ocd thoughts. Had a horrible summer with little controll ower this, but my medicin is doing some work now, that i started this summer. Iīve had really bad sleep the whole summer and itīs been a evil circle. Iīve managed to sleep ok maybe a week or so now, but not ewery night. The last 2 have been a disaster again, i wake up really early and canīt sleep after that, just roll in the bed and feel totally cracy with my compulsive thoughtīs, itīs like im way too hard on my self and destroy my sleep, when both the body and mind tells me too sleep. Itīs like that i gotta insure just this last thought, but it newer ends, and after many hours rolling in the bed when i finally give it up with the sleep, im totally broken and donīt feel like i have much controll to calm this down.
Is there anyone else that has this sort of problem with sleep?

Hi Mikey,

Yes, can relate to that. Are you taking anything to help you cope with this though?? Either a sleeping tablet, relaxing techniques or other coping strategies e.g. maybe trying to tire the body out during the day so you hopefully sleep like a log etc.

As you know, the body can't keep up with lack of sleep for extended periods... Not to mention how it affects one's overall functioning. On The Edge...

Well yes i have propavan for sleep, but have been taking it down the last week, when i finally been able to sleep somewhat ok. But then it goes up and down. The med keeps me slow in the head the whole next day, so im been taking only a halv a tab when i got a bit better, and then tried to quit that too, and slept the first morning ok(Friday). But after that itīs been totally downhill again.
I just got some healing from my mother, and it was calming. On The Edge...

Hi Mikey, and welcome to PC.
I have similar problems with sleeping.
I used to take Valerain Root, only it made me jittery instead of relaxed.
Now I am taking melatonin, it works very well.
I hope you can figure it out, and soon!

ok, isnīt melatonin the sleep substance in brain witch makes us sleep?
wonder if itīs hard to get subscribed...
anyway i think iīll manage whitout it as long as i can get enough support, witch has been mostly my mom now that my therapist has been on a long vacation.
I just have to get all the stuff out, and try to work with the CBT myself, untill i get that therapy.
Demajdancer: du you have ocd or any other problems than sleep?

Melatonin is also a pill which helps the substance in your brain kind of even out. You can also get it over the counter.
I do not have ocd, but I do have trouble sleeping, for other reasons. I have severe anxiety and depression. I went through quite a bit in my life where Im not always functional.
You can PM me if you'd like to know more about it.
But all the things that have happened to me have affected my sleeping and other daily things.
Take care,
-Megan-

Bethsway: ok, i too have woken up that time during the summer, mostly at 4, and if it was pass 6 then it was great On The Edge...

but the worst part is that i couldīt fall back to sleep after that, and still have only managed to do that just a few times.
Today i had school and it was a disaster for me. Even though i did sleep to almost 6 now i think. I just have to work more with my ocd, witch is hard without the therapy.

are you working or anything right now Bethsway?
i truly hope we will get normal sleep soon.
