Hey ya'll beautiful people, right now I'm calming down from an anxiety/panic attack.
And i thought i should ask for some advice/ opinions because i know that what I'm doing isn't right but i also know that it is keeping form actually hinting myself.. When i have an attack over mostly anything, i tend to hit my head either with my hands or against something, i know its not right, but it helps me from picking up a blade. But now i get constant headaches, my head feels like it pounding, and i still keep hitting. I can't stop the shaking anymore before i have an attack , and mostly everything sets me into panic, knocking book, not being able to find something, when i say the wrong thing to someone... Ughhh its just all to much.. What do you do when you have attacks & what do you think i should do? |

I used to scratch my hands or even head sometimes when I got stressed or was freaking out. Can you try and hurt something else, like a pillow or stomp on the ground? Something that has personally helped me, was to keep a pen and a piece of paper with me, and when I got stressed, I would make a square and color it in. That has saved me from hurting myself at school many times.

I usually squeeze my lighter or try to take slow, deep and quiet breaths and that usually calms me down when I'm freaking out.
Oh and try to pinpoint why you're so nervous. Analyze those thoughts and ask yourself "why does this affect me so much". "Is what I'm worried about really worth freaking out over" Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2 |

I understand your panic attacks. I've had them. Sometimes they are so intense I wanted to cut open my veins to let the panic out, but fortunately there is something that stops me. I understand that at the time nothing makes sense. There is nothing that triggers my panic attacks. The feelings are completely scrambled.
I use Xanax regularly and can take more if I need. What I did learn while in a partial hospitalization program was DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy). DBT helps you develop plans you can use when these attacks hit, I have several that I use based on what's happening. I keep them with me at all times. |

Are you taking any medication you need to ask a doctor and see what he can do to stop you from harming yourself and hitting your head and also seek a therapist because you can't live like that and also I want to know what's causing you to get these attacks why would u think to cut yourself when you get it what is your anexity what's causing it ?

The self-harm aspect is due to the utter desperation that we feel. Better alternatives that I've tried includes holding ice cubes (it hurts and calms my emotional spiral somewhat) and digging one's fingernails into their palms.
