thank you for responding. i'm ok,thank you for asking. everyone is so sick of hearing negative answers that they don't ask anymore so ... I'm fine thanks, you? My daughter and I had a screechfest the afternoon after I freaked and at least she recognized that it happened. She is 16 and knows everything you know, including that i am faking this. No, I'm not. I feel bad that she had to see an;other one. that makes 3 she's witnessed. in the past 4 years. I guess that could be worse. Are you one of the "doctor" people on this site or just another person? I appreciate you taking the time to answer my post. thanks.

Not a doctor, just a member and fellow panic-er.
I don't have expectations for an answer when I ask how you are doing... I really want to know. How are you doing? It's so hard with teens. They do know everything, of course. (LOL). What could be wrong with her witnessing your panic? It might really be scaring her, but she doesn't know how to express that. Do you talk about it afterwards when you're both calmer? Except for very young kids, who couldn't understand some things and should be shielded, I think it's a good thing for kids to see the real issues their parents face. That is part of life and they are getting ready to be living life independently and need to know the realities of it. My son and I ended up in therapy together and separately when he was 16. Have you considered that? It's helpful for each person to have a neutral 3rd person. And they psychologist I wen to helped me with ideas on how to deal with my son more effectively and I was grateful for someone to listen to me (we had therapy sessions apart, too). We had screeching arguments too, and he pysically threatened me several times. Something had to be done. So, how are you feeling now? ECHOES ![]() |

Hello Ginger.
I hope you are feeling better at this time. Are you seeing a therapist at this time? A therapist can help you to learn to cope better with your home life situation, and the anxiety you are having. There are also medication available for the panic as well. There is a Dr on this site that may be able to help you under the drug forum, Dr Wylie he goes under the name of psisci, and you can leave a message for him as to what is happening, and he can suggest what you need to take for the anxiety. There are also peoplein chat from time to time you can talk to in person if you need someone to talk to in person. I am going to leave you the number of a hotline to call in case you need to talk to someone in person 1-800-273-TALK. I hope things get better soon Ginger Take care and good day Soidhonia
