I'm so sorry about you suffering like that!
There are meds that work pretty well on OCD... like Zoloft, Prozac, Citalopram and others... CBT-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is known to help a lot of people. I went through CBT for about a year and got rid of a lot of compulsions. It's hard work... but so worth it! Feel free to pm me if you like. You can get much better!!! Have faith! |

There is no cure for it but there are many things that help. Both meds and therapy have helped me a lot. Both meds and therapy help make OCD a lot more managable. If you are really struggling with OCD there is nothing wrong with talking to your doctor about it. They won't force you to try anything you don't want to, but they can make suggestions that can make this much more bearable.
I wish you the best of luck (((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))

I suffer from OCD for about 6 years now. I went to a doctor who listened to what I was saying, and quoting him "your brain just needs a little extra help". He prescribed Citalaprom 20mg.
This was four weeks ago, and even though I have the tablets, I havent started taking them yet. The instant he confirmed I had OCD it was almost like a weight lifted. I still have OCD, but in a way his confirmation gace me some strength to deal with it. I still have the tablets if I want to start them, but right now for four weeks I`ve coped by myself. Some days are worse than others but knowing exactly what it is, and that if I feel I need more help the meds are there is veru re-assuring. I also told the wife all about my issue, and that helped. Sharing with someone who you can trust really helped me. |

I always had OCD with my anxiety. I still get it from time to time. I just take some Xanax and it goes away. Makes me so much more agreeable. I've been taking it for 2 years, and I take less now than I did at the beginning. Go see somebody for help, there's no reason to deal with this on your own, no reason to suffer through it!
