I have told my docs--yep---all 4 of them. These pains won't go away. When i was in the hospital I stopped Starbucks cold turkey and smoked less for FOUR days, the chest pains were still coming and going--but not as much.
I got home on Monday --hit the Starbuckls and upped the smoking again. I am really in trouble, makes me want to go hide.
Has anyone had muskuloskeletal pain???---because obviously these pains are NOT coming from my heart--although one never knows---and I am very concerned.
Please anyone?

Oh dear...I'm so sorry you are in pain. chest pain that won't quit!!!!!!!!!

Did any of your doctors mention that your pain could be connected with anxiety or have they also ruled that out?

I do hope you are feeling better soon. Please take good care of yourself.....you deserve to!

A few of my doctors attributed the pain to stress, but two did not. One wants me to get a stress test/treadmill done next week. Possibly a halter monitor.
Don't you think i should ask to see a cardiologist?

I'm really at my wits end! I took my Propanolol and 50mg Seroquel an hour ago and it feels like someone is sitting on my chest. How can I get a doctor to listen to me?????

I tried googling interactions with these meds (the meds i take everyday) and nothing "serious came up except for increased CNS depression?

2mg Suboxone
2mg Ativan PRN
50mg Seroquel bedtime
10mg Propanolol bedtime
Phenergan
It just feels like the circulation is being cut off from my head.

I am about ready to give the helll up

I'm having chest pain, too. Don't know if it's similar to yours or not. Doctors checked my lungs for signs of a pulmonary embolism, but turned out ok (thank heaven). They said it was an inflamation in my rib cage causing them to press on my lungs. Gave me some anti-inflamatories. My pain went away for a couple weeks but it's back now. I think they were wrong about it, because it's very very deep inside, and even goes into my back a little. I'm going to get another appt.

Where in your chest is your pain? Does it get worse when you breathe in and out?

I have chest pain & pressure due to anxiety. The doc gave me a very thorough work up with the echo stress test to make sure it wasn't my heart. Everything clear there, but the pain is sometimes so bad I can hardly breathe.

I take klonopin at night (also have bipolar so I take meds for that) to help me sleep, Trazodone, too. But during the day I don't want to take the klonopin as it make me sleepy. I try to ride the pain out; try to breathe deeply; reassure myself that it is not a heart attack; exercise on the treadmill if I can--try anything to get through it. When It gets really scary & bad I do take a half dose of the klonopin, but then I have to take a nap, which I hate. I want to be awake & alive during the day.--Suzy

Also, you mentioned smoking. I quit smoking about 7 years ago, once I was stabalized on my meds & decided to make good decisions about my life. Temporarily smoking would help relieve stress, but it would cause more in the long run as I worried about mouth cancer, lung cancer, etc. Everytime I got a tingling on my tongue or a pain in my chest I would immediately thing I had cancer & was going to die so quitting helped get rid of that, at least.--Suzy

Need 2,

It sounds like you need to get to the bottom of your chest pains with a medical professional. If it is heart related, you need to get immediate help at an emergency room!

Thanks people--I had a work up at the ER two weeks ago. Some tests were off, but doctor let me go....I have had trouble swallowing as well, (which I think is automatic due to increased anxiety over the year) and now nausea. The inflammation of your rib cage makes sense, as one doc asked me if I would take Advil. I was on Celexa for about 5 days before I stopped it due to severe nausea. My thyroid was checked as being unbalanced, as it went up a lot over the course of one year.
Ya know--I've always been pretty healthy, but now I guess it's just time to really take my health seriously. I notice the pain after I take certain meds. I got a massage last night and had my chest massaged, the muscles were super sore---it helped. Also, I haven't had to take an Ativan in 24 hours, so go figure---sometimes I feel like a real nutcase because I get different symptoms at different times.
I was getting stable and working towards recovery for a year and felt pretty good, the let down came when I moved back "home" and now my feelings of physical "not well" entangles with my emotional feelings as well. I think I am sad/depressed, but antidepressants and I do not get along, they give me unpleasant side effects, agh heck--heinz 57 mutt with myriads of issues, dear Jesus please give me clarity and peace.........I just do not feel well---and i notice that is definately a statement I make as my 'pattern' when I am depressed and can't communicate it to others---sorry.

SweetCrusader, I just wanted to say that your pain sounds similar to mine when I had pancreatitis.

Many times pain that feels like chest pain can be gastroinestinal so you could also see a gastroenterologist.

needs2, the holter monitor is and stress test are cardiac and it would be a cardiologist who would review the results. Could you ask to have the cardiologist consult with you about the test results?
