Finding yourself thinking too much when you haven't got the intellect or emotional stability to cope with it really messes with your head.
It's like having an overwhelming urge to stuff yourself full of doughnuts when you're a diabetic coeliac.

There should be a fail safe mechanism to prevent such perverse anomalies.

I find washing the bath when I get stuck in one of those "thinking to much" moments helps break the cycle.

Distraction helps me a lot, I had to practice this for awhile to build the habit.

I sure can relate to the feeling of being addicted to those destructive thought loops. I had to figure out that I can't always think my way out, instead I have to do something different. Take a walk. Shower. Get immersed in a good book.

I think way too much every second of every day. But whenever I need to break that I listen to music or call someone to get my mind on something smaller.

Yes, grounding myself in some other activity, like Mouse, something I'm not necessarily liking doing, helps me. If it's the middle of the night, getting up and coming on here and answering a few posts or reading or something helps.

My goal is to have a house early this summer. Ive been looking at houses and furniture, and my mind is really running circles around me, i think it is excited or something. It just won't stop thinking about the house thing because Ive got my hopes so high!

I think too much and it has nothing to do with anxiety or anything related to it lol. Just a bunch of random crap that floats thru my mind all day.

I can relate to thinking too much. Why do I think of all negative things too much? I used to be an optimist. I have to try to think of good things more often.

lol Garnet. I spend more time worrying than doing. It contributes to my procrastination. ADHD is a factor also. My mind is always going in a dozen different directions of thought. I need to learn to manage it better but to get access to the guidance, I need a specialist to test me. That is a waiting game where I am....to get specialists, then waiting again for the actual test dates.
