Hello, Im new here and dont really know what Im doing yet. Please be patient with me on here. My doctor told me that I could check out some online help for people with anxiety disorders. I have quite a number of severe phobia's, and they are really ruining my life. Im very depressed, and I need help, just dont know where to turn. Ive always had these phobia's ever since I was a child, but after losing my Daughter to a auto accident in 2005, they have become more severe. Can someone maybe give me some idea's about what to do on here?

Hi mentalmess, I just started here this week but it has been helping me a lot. When I started, I just browsed through the forum topics.... look at the topics first, who knows, what you may be asking is already an exisiting topic! ;] Read on and discover things.

Welcome to PC ;]

welcome, this is a good place. so very sorry about your loss. i am also agoraphobic with lots of different phobias.

i know anxiety is your main problem, but don't limit yourself to the anxiety section. it is good, but not very busy. general and social are both pretty busy, there are all sorts of topics, just jump in and reply to something. you will find all sorts of people to talk to.

yup, pachy is right. start anywhere.

there are lots of areas on here that have ideas on coping, even if the source of discomfort or pain is different.

you will find support here too!!!!
and understanding.

i just come on, see what moves me that minute - and i might post.
or i'll read along and feel among friends - people who understand.
or i'll sit in chat and listen to folks, and chime in here and there ... or cry my eyes out in there ... very nice folks around, who won't abandon us in our times of need.

welcome.

i'm so very sorry for your loss.

i hope you find some comfort here.

peace,
nightbird

Welcome! Always good to see someone new New and dont know what Im doing yet!

Just wanna say that I am so sorry for your loss. I know you can't "compare" things like this, but reading posts like this just reminds me of how insignificant some of my problems in comparison to those who are truly suffering.

I hope you find the help you're looking for here

mentalmess, you came to the right place. Read and post as you feel comfortable. It won't be long and you will be a pro at it. This place really starts to grow on you after awhile. I also have an anxiety disorder...talking here has really helped me. Although I still feel anxious about things, I am better able to get outside of my house. And, I can check the mail with limited anxiety. I am able to get to work and the grocery store...everything is not perfect, but definitely better than it was when I started here on psychcentral!

Hey? Your not alone...I'm lost and don't know what to do...I have to get a job, but I'm afraid because of the people...Being around them and making mistakes...I have a Fear of Failing...I have a big problem accepting myself and loving myself...I have social problems...I don't have many friends...I also have low self-esteem...Just take baby steps...Things will get better...Everyday isn't the same...
