Peppermint oil has been shown to have calming effects on people. It settles the stomach and relaxes you. That's why drinking peppermint tea is a really good idea when you're panicky or upset! But also the intensity of the flavor probably has some effect on drawing your attention away from the anxiety. For me, I would suck on an atomic fireball when anxious or upset ,and that really got my mind off of everything.
If it works, keep doing it! Take care, ![]() J

This makes sense to me, because I'm not a big fan of driving over bridges (ones that have a steep grade). What I usually do is stop an exit or two before the bridge and get a cup of hot coffee. Basically, as I'm going over the bridge I sip the hot coffee and the sensation of the heat and the coffee itself distracts me from my fear, usually long enough tone down my anxiety symptoms.

I never thought about that, I will definatly have to try that, I always have an abundace of peprmints floating around my house and my room. Thanks for the tip Freewill. I actually use to chew gum but I would chew the whole back before the day was over so I stopped.
