It sounds like anxiety, but it also sounds like your dissascoating.
Do you lose all grip on reality?

hmm, must be a new rule, I don't rember a five post limit when I joined.
It definatly sounds more like a dissocasation issue than anxiety although anxiety could be a trigger for it. You can pm me if you would like to.

Do you rember where you are or is there any memory lose from the daydreams?

I would think it was some sort of dissacosation, if you can't control it and I've never heard of someone having an issue like this with anxiety.
I myself have issues with dissacosating, or removing myself from a triggering or nervous situaion, but not like this, I just go outside myself and remove myself from my emotions like I'm floating.

Do you see a T? It sounds like you may want to talk to your T about this if your seeing one. Is there something that triggers this, like a certain situation or place?

Feel free to pm me any time you want, I'm always here to listen to others and give support. nervous disoriantation and sometimes uncontrolable daydreams nervous disoriantation and sometimes uncontrolable daydreams

Could you talk to your medical docotor? Most medical doctors can give a refferal to a T or help with anxiety issues.
I hope this get better for you, you may want to look up some grounding techniques to help when you get like this, One I use alot is counting or focusing on colors to help. There are a list of grounding techniques some where on this site, I can't rember where they are I think it is in the PTSD forum, most of those are targeted towards grounding from flashbacks, but they help with anxiety as well.

Yes, they are on the very top of the PTSD forum, on this site.

Grounding Techniques.

Very interesting comments, between sparrows.

I hope you also speak to your Md. about this problem, if you find it will be hard to explain, print out this page you wrote and give it to him to read.

Best of luck to you - and maybe a PhD. or SW will show up in your life very soon to help with your difficulties.

peace and comfort,
nightbird

Nightbird I never noticed that both my user name and cpl's both contain sparrow. Sharp eye there, I notice it now, makes me smile the irony of it.

How are you feeling today cpljacksparrow?

Sometimes the same thing happens to me, but i like to think that is just an hyperactive imagination. And is like some unconscious technique to avoid some things, or just to entertain ourselves during akward moments.

Hi Group,
I have kind of same problem , people around me always complain that i am not mentally present. I am always in my own thoughts. My wife usually complains that i am not paying any attention. At work i get get easily distracted.

For last six month i am taking ADD medicines, and it helped a lot. I am also taking CELEXA for GAD sysmptoms. Your case could be same. Ask your Doc about ADD and Anxiety symptoms.
