Hi Everyone

I'm in college and it's the first week of classes. And already I feel overwhelmed and burnt out. I wake up with anxiety attacks.....heart beating fast.....thoughts racing......body shaking....paranoia...etc Today, I dragged my ____ out of bed and started to busy myself with my homework. The anxiety lessened until I looked at the different class assignments and that's when my anxiety level increased.

How do I manage my anxiety levels and stress while in school so that I don't burn out easily?

Muffy's got good thoughts and ideas. I'd make plans and schedule work; for me, writing plans down gets the free floating anxiety out of my head and makes me feel like I'm doing something constructive.

You might look at your classes and see if there's one or two you want to drop or change?

This morning first thing I wrote two pages of "Little things bothering me" and just getting them all together and on a piece of paper where I could see them was a big help.

For me organization and a plan work best for this type of anxiety. If I have an organized list of everything and a plan of action on how it is going to get done I feel a bit better and more confident that I'm not going to forget or have enough time. Now deep breath, big hug, and hopes that the course load is enough to make you learn (because that is what you are paying for right )but not enough so that you feel like you are drowning.
