Are you anxious over the "cats", zen? I know it can't be your computer class giving you anxiety cuz you've got the computer whiz in your pocket!!
![]() Maybe keep some paper by the bed and when you get up you could write down what you need to accomplish and how you plan on doing it. Then you could write down what is causing you anxiety for the day and then write down both the positive and negative (for instance, you're worried that Sally and Cathy will start their gossiping again and distract you. Negative--you'll sit and worry that maybe it's about you or about someone you know. It's distracting and it upsets you to hear people act that way. Positive--You could gently say, "hey guys, I'm really struggling in this class and I really need to concentrate. Do you mind talking during break?" Though talking to them may be hard, the positive one will remove the situation. Or you could even see if you can remove you if you can't get them to stop. Make any sense? |

I've decided to get up an hour earlier and take my medication and chill out on the computer before its time to have a shower and get ready for college.
Please send me positive wishes of encouragement....im truly struggling! ![]() |

Making "morning time" for yourself can really be beneficial. In fact, most people are at their peak brain performance levels in the morning...from a therapeutic stanpoint, this means that if you take the time to put yourself in a good frame of mind, the benefits can last all day.
I'm a bit of a night owl, so I find this hard to do. Fortunately being in school like yourself means you can usually keep late hours. I don't get morning anxiety like you (I used to to some degree, though), but I find that some "chill out" time in the morning really helps me get through the day, something I've really needed lately. Good luck...I've had some really bad struggles recently too. It's a cliche, but try to take it day by day, hour by hour...that's what I'm trying to do, as well. ![]() |

Zen, sounds like you found yourself a good plan! Our reality is what our brain makes it because of our past and experiences. Remember, that what you are perceiving isn't the "absolute" truth with these other girls. It is only your perception through glasses which have had bad previous experiences and development that has left you vulnerable. If you could try to step outside yourself and bit and realize that there is another way to perceive your experiences. I guess it's like not taking your experiences so personal, giving yourself some space so that the walls and everything don't come down and constrict you. (This is how anxiety felt to me. It felt like I was restricted and compressed. Now I feel free from things and nothing constricts me.) I hope this makes sense!
