Hi All,
I did the ADD quiz and it told me to get tested immediately. Thing is I have panic & anxiety major depressive disorder, agoraphobia and disassociation...how on earth do they sort these things out and know which basket to put them into? I'm at a loss at the moment, just not functioning and not really wanting to, I'd rather curl up in my shell than do anything, Thanks, Rhiannon ![]() |

Do you see a Pdoc and/or a T? You really need to bring this up with your clinician (preferably someone who has experience and skill in diagnosing and treating adults with ADHD). Did the same clinician diagnose you with your other disorders? If different ones diagnosed you (either at different times or the same time-frame), I suggest seeing a whole new one altogether to clarify and get a second opinion. A lot of things overlap. The quizzes online and even on paper, are just guides of a sort. ADHD for instance, is often misdiagnosed as Bipolar in adults... and oftentimes diagnosed together. It's so hard to tell, you really have to see a professional and be direct that you think you have ADHD. Bring the results to review the symptoms with them, and then let us know what the result is. PS---ADHD isn't really horrible or anything. In fact it's often a lot of fun----IF we control the ADHD and the ADHD isn't controlling us. ![]()

I have found with the combination of medication and coaching, not only has my ADHD improved, but my depression has gotten better and my anxiety has lessened. I am lucky enough that I have worked with my pdoc for over 9 years and can afford a coach. Most often, ADHD is "tested" or evaluated with observational evaluations completed by you and one (or more) people who are close to you and know you well. For me it was evaluations completed by me and my husband of 12 years. My daughters' evaluations were done by me or D (husband and their father), their teachers and for my oldest, she completed one. While there are efforts to find a biological marker for ADHD so it can be identified by a blood test, science has not quite gotten there yet. Hang in there. As you learn more, you will figure out how to work with the ADHD rather than against it.
