Hello... I am new at this whole ADD diagnosis. I for sure have it and it was a DUH moment for me when I found out what it was. But I do have so many questions and if I am posting too many, please let me know.
1. Does anyone out there have allergies along with ADD and if so what meds do you take?
I was put on Adderall xr 20mg and Now my ENT wants me on Singulair for Allergies and Asthma.
I am a worry wart(part of my problem) and just want to make sure the meds will not clash.

2. Also seems that the adderall xr20mg does make me feel better when I take it. It realy helps me focus and gets me moving, but when it wheres off at night, I have a crash.
Was wondering if there is a lower dose or if it's normal and if I could combat that somehow? And I do worry about it not being so good for my heart since I am 40 and My mother and Father both have heart problems.

I know this all makes me sound like a hypochondriac, but I just worry and want to be the best I can be without making my health worse.
I need to be healthy to help take care of the rest of my family.
Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can give.

Sugarplum,
I don't think you are being a hypochondriac at all. I think your questions are really appropriate. Unfortunately, I don't have any good insight to provide. I'm on 30mg of Adderall XR. I don't experience evening crashes, I only feel like I crash on the days that I don't take it. I'm usually fine when I don't take it until about 4 in the afternoon, then I seem to crash hard. I don't really experience this type of crash when I take it regularly. Have you experimented with taking it a little later in the morning? This way your crash occurs later when you can just relax on the couch after a hard day of work.

Thanks for your comment... and I will certainly give your suggestion a try. It is good to know that there are others in the same boat as me altho I don't wish this on anyone.
Thanks again!

Sugar,
Just a follow-up regarding your crashing at the end of the day. Here is a good info sheet on the different Adderall dosages and XR capsules. Figure 1 might be helpful in determining when to take it. It might also give you something to bring to your next doctor's appointment. Adderall Rx Info Fact Sheet
