Any ideas on how to cope?
I just feel like a livewire. My arms feel heavy. My heart is pounding. Every sound that goes off near me, especially phones, makes me jump and my heart pound even faster. My chest feels like it wants to explode.

I cannot pinpoint my mood right now. I just am feeling a bit sorry for myself, withdrawn and just want to be left alone

I normally seek a menial distraction...something to keep busy, that doesn't require any real thinking...I pay special attention to my breathing..I've noticed that my breathing impacts hugely on the level of my anxiety, also I make a concieous decision to relax...my neck, shoulders, etc.

Try and see if a "soothing" playlist could help, I have 3...Emo, Manic, Stressed...I'm still playing around with what goes where, but it helps.Singing along (even in my head) sometimes helps take the edge off.

I think I'm just rambling now...

Hope I've said something intelligible, (and sorry if I haven't) if I have any other viable thoughts, will be sure to share them with you...

Taking a walk helps me and I try to do deep breathing while I am walking. I also drink this natural supplement called CALM in addition to my regular anxiety meds.

I'm just getting soooooooooooooo frustrated. This anxiety is slowly manifesting into depression.
And I have 10 weeks to wait until I see a new pdoc! I've been given Rivotril by my GP to help cope until then. Aside from the ADs and mood stabiliser I'm already on, but that I don't think works too well.
I'm getting so frustrated right now. I just want someone to wave a magic wand over my head and make me feel better. I don't want to be let down by yet another pdoc. I'm scared to see and share my feelings and emotions with another pdoc. I just wish there was a simple answer!

Taking a walk and having distractions are excellent ideas. Have you ever tried meditation? That may also help calm you down a bit.

I've never tried meditation - I actually don't take a single minute out to just be, and be on my own. i listen to soothing music, sometimes Christian religious music, but that can make me more depressed at times

Although I'm not experienced and absolutely no expert, might it be possible to channel the energy into something else? When I feel anxious, I find that cleaning helps..or moving some furniture around...something the requires physical labor, not heavy of course, but the need to keep moving.

Even something small like sewing something that needs to be sewn, cleaning out a junk drawer...something that changes the focus. These little types of tasks might alleviate some of the anxiety. Just a thought...

Thanks Karen - I know I need to just pull myself together and put my mind on something else. Just difficult when you sit behind a desk at work all day.
Only 40 mins to go til I go home. Then I can get into my PJs with a glass of wine, watch a soccer game, hopefully have an understanding boyfriend who'll just cuddle, and I can be warm under my duvet. And if I fall asleep, so be it.

I can relate to that..when I'm feeling stressed or leveled up in anxiety, sitting at work is hard, very hard.

Plus, I feel helpless because it's usually outside of work that's causing me the stress/anxiety and then I feel like I can't get to it and fix it fast enough.
Thanks for this!

Yeah - I'm a lot happier usually sitting at home. It's strange though, as there's not usually a specific stressor...?
Now I have relationship issues at home, and am feeling a lot safer at work
