Currently:

150mg Zoloft
12mg Risperidone
12mg Valium
7.5mg Zopiclone
1mg Lorazepam

I'm seeing Pdoc on Monday as I'm going through a relapse despite these meds so I expect a change around for sure.

I'm surprised by all of the antidepressants --is that more of a Bipolar II thing? Or BPD on top of the bipolar?

In any case, Bipolar I (+ anxiety/PTSD). I'm in the U.S.:

Seroquel: 100 mg a.m. 150 mg p.m.
Lamictal: 150 mg
Klonopin: .5 mg
Seroquel PRN (increase when going into [or already in] hypo/manic episode)

Central Pain Syndrome (aka hell, post spinal cord decompression surgery): Methadone 2.5 mg 4x/day (finally worked after unsuccessful trials of 3 anti-epileptics commonly used for neuropathic pain).

I have BP1 and have as many depressive episodes as manic episodes. Therefore, I take an antidepressant. Also my depressive episodes usually last longer than my manic episodes. Luckily, ECT works for both. I like to say that for me, mania is expensive while depression is dangerous. When I am manic I have trouble controlling my spending. When depressed I become suicidal almost every time. I need my antidepressant.

I take Pristiq and Zeldox for BP, xanax and Valium PRN for anxiety and breakthrough manic symptoms, slow release MS Mono (morphine), Lyrica, Brufen, Codapane - all for my back. And Aladorm for sleeping.

...I feel like I got a pharmaceutical gumball machine strapped to my head,

making twice daily deliveries.

my mental pillness requires sodium valproate, lithium and Seroquel.

...at just safe levels....at least that's what 'they' tell me

for so long I resisted more medication after so many terrible experiences on things like antidepressants and barbs...

but I got myself all backed into a corner didn't I!

I kept cracking right up!

and now?...it's unbelievable the combo seems to be helping me adjust to life.

this does not mean I have control over my life ...NO WAY... or even anything like control over my emotional decisions...

basically?... I still screw up just the same but I don't seem to go into a psycho panic and turn already uncomfortable things into outright disasters.

...which is exactly why I have this medical gumball smiley facehugger strapped to my head

What is your medication cocktail like?

Mine is a little different, furthermore I take a holistic approach...
  • Coffee every am.
  • Protein 30 g every am.
  • Asprin 325 mg every am. *experimental
  • Sublingual B12 every am.
  • Lamotrigine 50 ~ 200 mg, as needed, every am.
  • Provigil or Nuvigil, whichever is cheapest, every am.
  • Magnesium Oxide 250 mg every day. *experimental.
  • Half a Centrum multivitamin every day.
  • Ultimate Flora Probiotic every day. *experimental
  • Omega-3 1000 mg (60%+ EPA) every day.
  • Limit caffeine after dinner.
  • Lithium Carbonate 300 mg every night.
  • Lithium Orotate 30 mg every night (mode of action is via pyrimidine metabolism).
  • Ambien 5 mg every night, sometimes 10 mg as needed.
  • Sonata 5 mg every night. The combo has better sleep initiation, less tolerance buildup.

My just in case drugs:
  • Prednisone 5 mg every day until hypomanic (reverts depressive symptoms). *experimental
  • Temazepam 15 mg.
  • Ativan 0.5 mg.
  • Tequila.
  • Rum.

*experimental = I'm currently experimenting, on and off, with this substance to evaluate what effect it has, in me.

Since we are sharing our holistic regimen:

St John's Wort tincture
Bach essences customized mixture (four times daily... if I don't forget)
Ginger root tea
Morning coffee
Lemon balm/mint/oregano/majoram tea

"PRNs":

Guarana nuts to make a tea (used instead of coffee)
Valerian or catnip at nighttime
Bach's Rescue Remedy
Salvia officialist (for tea).

(I as well keep emergency bottle of vodka... and moonshine grape booze made in Moravia).

Need to hit a health store or pharmacy for fish oil, lecitin and maybe some vitamins (but I currently eat well, so don't think I need that).

I guess my signature speaks for itself. I believe my pdoc will be taking me off viibryd and have me try Cymbalta or Effexor for current depression.
