I feel a depressive episode coming on despite going up on my Wellbutrin. I am feeling the need to hibernate more, and nothing seems to be the way it should be. It's all kind of dull. My concentration is shot. I am getting paranoid, and I may have had an auditory hallucination that the tv was on but when I got to that room, it wasn't. Maybe it is side effects from Wellbutrin?

I don't know if I should just wait it out, or call my pdoc.
Thanks for this!

I would call your Pdoc! I am in a similar situation as you where I'm getting paranoid, hallucinating and wanting to just crawl under the covers and hide.
Your Pdoc can tell you if it's the wellbutrin or not and can help you figure out a solution.

Call him/her... maybe they can check it before it becomes a full-blown episode...

Sending to you and onlymedid. I hope you'll both be okay and won't slide further down.
Thanks for this!

I'll have to work up the nerve to call. It is so hard for me to be on the phone. I am so distracted that I forget what I am going to say, even typing on the boards I have to stop every third word and try to remember what I was going to say. I will have to make a list of things so that I remember to tell my pdoc everything.

Do you think it's anything to do with the weather? It's horrible this time of year.
I hope for you that's it's a short term thing, but definitely call your Pdoc!
Sending hugs to you through the web!
Keep checking in on us!

Try and write down your proposed conversation. I made a list of what I wanted to tell my pdoc, then forgot it!! Grrrr. And when I got there, I was SOOOooooo nervous. But think I remembered most things. Talking to him properly actually made me respect him more, because I finally saw that he did care. And it mattered that I knew this. I'd feel a lot more comfortable phoning him now, and with my upcoming change In meds, he said I must call if things don't seem normal.

Bear in mind that Wellbutrin can cause anxiety - maybe this is your underlying issue?

Please call your pdoc or someone similar. What about telling your T if that's easier and let your 2 professionals deal with each other...?
Thanks for this!

I worked up the nerve and called, got her voicemail and left a message. Now I wait. I am feeling a little better today.

I got a phone call back from pdoc, and she said to reduce my Wellbutrin to half of what I was taking. It's probably not going to do much for the depression, but should take care of my other weird symptoms. She also said that I could make an earlier appointment if I need to instead of waiting a month.

This is my first post on this forum, so forgive me if I am not up to speed. I was concerned about your situation BNLsMOM because I have been in that situation so many times (although I am feeling very well and even-keeled just now). Instead of waiting it out, I think it is always a good idea to call your doctor, just like everyone else has advised you. Let's hope you will get some good advice soon, and that you will let us know what has happened. All the very best.
Thanks for this!

I am actually feeling better today. I wonder if it is the reduction in Wellbutrin, or the fact that I had a cup of coffee this morning. I just hope it lasts.

Why are you so afraid of talking to your pdoc and telling him or her how you are feeling? That's there job.

Just explain how you are feeling and he/she can probably tweek your meds so you will feel better soon.

It's making phone calls in general that I have issues with. It's irrational, but sometimes I will get panic attacks if I have to make a phone call.

Congrats on finding the nerve to call. It'll only get better from here on; next time you won't find it so difficult
I also HATE talking on the phone.

Wellbutrin does make me very anxious and aggitated. I hope yours was med related and it settles down quickly.

(((BNLsMOM))) I hear you on the phone thing!!! I am EXACTLY the same way. Ugh, what fun, anxiety.

I have been on a health streak since my miscarriage in April, but I always leave myself a little room for chocolate. DARK chocolate - cocoa via makes tiny little bars of it that are just the right size for emergencies. Instant, if temporary, mood boost -- and sometimes it buys me enough time in a good mood to get the energy to go get involved in something else that will make me feel good. Going out for coffee with a girlfriend, working on a project, or just folding a basket of laundry. (Something I hate doing but always feel great about when it's done...)
Hang in there. I hope you do okay... I'm heading into the time of year when my depression typically takes over, and I am hoping and praying the meds head it off this year. It's sad that, as destructive as mania has been in my life, I almost still dread the depression more. It has eaten up so much of my life.
Keep us posted, and I will be sending warm-fuzzies your way.
Thanks for this!

Mmmm Chocolate, and an excuse to eat it...

So far I feel pretty neutral today which I guess is a good thing. Tomorrow I get to spend time learning about how to take care of the shelter cats that I will be working with.

So I think I won't like the litterbox part of working with the cats, but I ha a good time this morning being trained. The cats are so cute. I want to bring them home with me. Once I get used to the routine, it will be something I look forward to each week. I haven't ha that outside my house for a long time. I'll be on my own an won't really have others working with me, other than the people working at the store that hosts this portion of the shelter. I'll have to occassionally deal with the public who want to see the cats, but since I'll be in there first thing in the morning, there aren't too many people yet. I think this is a good choice for me. I found it because I went to the state's vocational rehab center and after talking with my counselor there, she thinks I am not ready to go back to work full time, or even part time.

Oh, I have fallen in love with those cats.
Thanks for this!

Awsome BNLsMOM!!!! Haha I don't blame , I'd be a little worried if you said your favorite part would be the litter box cleaning. I'm really happy for you that it went well. It sounds like a great opportunity for you. I hope it keeps going good.
Thanks for this!

I second the awesome ! Sounds as if you've got it down all right. Great start! Those kitties are lucky, & I know you'll have fun with them--litter box aside .

So now we know: Sometimes the second time's the charm. How very brave you were to go back for training after the rain drove you back the first time. I'm glad it rewarded you .

Cheers !
