I'm so sad today, the one thing that has really been helping me mentally I can no longer do for now. I'm sure most of you know how I feel about my Bikram Yoga. Really it helps keep me here.

I tore my hamstring pretty bad. I tore into two major parts, quite a lot of internal bleeding and bruising down the back of my thigh. The dr said not to be surprised to see bruising all the way down to the foot And PAIN. Lots of pain, hard to extend my leg or bend down. So my dr told me no more yoga for now, I will be going to physiotherapy instead. What a kicker!!! I'm pretty down about it. I love going there and I need to go there. My dr said months, I am so hoping not. anyways , I am sad with this.

Oh Anika, So, so sorry this has happened to you.
Are you able to take any kind of pain med to help?
Know yoga is a real outlet for you. Maybe your sister can pitch in some. Might be time to find more hobbies, puzzles.
IDK what to say really, just wanted you to know you'll be in my thoughts & prayers that you heal really fast.

Sending much TLC your way.
Thanks for this!

Ouch, Anika. That sounds mighty painful. I have the same question, did they give you anything for the pain? I really hope the physio helps sooner than 'months'. It is gloomy to have now this gap which used to be occupied with yoga. But maybe there is a way to turn it around so that something good comes out of it. In any case, I would do exactly what the dr and physio tells you to do in order for it to heal properly.

Best of luck,
BB

Oh noes, Anika! How rotten. Of course, we all want it to get better sooner, but don't push it too hard because you don't want a persistent injury. At least the physio will give you something to work on in the meantime...

Anything else you could do that might take the place of yoga for the time being?

Oh Anika! Ouch! I really hope it heals as quickly as possible. Be good with doing your treatments (not to be bossy, just so you can maximize healing ) Perhaps they might have some suggestions for other physical activity (upper body or whatever) that might help in some ways that the bikram has. Maybe not as intensively, but something for the interim with physical movement benefits, you know?

awww, thank you guys, you are all so sweet, as always.

I went to physical therapy today, I injured it worse than I thought, three major tears on the left, and one on the right. So I am supposed to rest for five days, ice and compression and elevation, get the bleeding to stop. No yoga, no snowboarding. I can do very slight stretches. Yes I did this at yoga where they constantly tell you to listen to your body, I need to clean out my ears.

Lesson learnt, listen to your body, I push myself very hard, too hard sometimes. So I guess I will just have to bite the bullet and do what I'm told. I could maybe work on my knitting or other hobbies. I could practice my meditation. That might be good.

So they massage right into the tears, deeply, seriously owe owe owe. No I didn't get anything for pain, but I didn't ask, and I can't take NSAID's with lithium. I can tolerate the pain, that's ok. I just didn't want to fall apart without my yoga.

Thank you for the support you guys, I know I have not been around here much lately. I have just been trying to get past the depression. It means a lot to me. I love you guys.
