I was beginning to move out of my depression last week and looking forward to a bit of normal before the hypomania, and then my father died (no sympathy please, he was also my abuser). Now, I am at such a low point and trying to function at work. The pdoc upped my ant-depressant last week, and my therapist is booked all week. I have 4 more weeks until I quit working full time, but until then, I have to endure. Right now, I am wondering how I am functioning at all. I have one week left to get my class reviewed for testing, and I feel like I am not capable of doing it. One minute at a time...

One minute at a time, one second at a time. It helps so much to focus only on what is exactly in front of you, only the next second. I hope you find the strength to get through these next coming weeks. But I think you have the right idea of only focusing on the now, that helps me so much.

I know when my father passed, also my abuser, it was a very confusing time for me. I understand the no sympathy part. I hope tour therapist can work your thoughts and feelings around this through with you, if you need that.

Do you have a break from work for a while after 4 weeks is up? Any time to recouperate and take time out for yourself?

I hear you, bluemountain. I get by on the seat on of my pants most days at work. I know how that goes. I hope your depression passes.

I saw a saying yesterday that I really liked. It says "I try to get by one day at a time, but sometimes several days gang up on me at once."

Even though he was your abuser, it is still a sudden emotional change in your life. Both good and bad stress can have the same effect. Confusing stress, too. I hope you feel better soon.

I have decided to look for part-time teaching positions. I have appts. at the pdoc and t every two weeks and I am not able give all that I need to this job.
No, I'm not independently wealthy, but my husband and I decided to make some financial adjustments to get through this time.
