I am still walking thru the mud. I am tired of playing a bit part in the "Cissy Show" (My 13 yo). No one else in this house is getting what they need bc we are all forced (By her and all her therapy) to live in her world and its not fair to me, my husband and especially my kids that did not bring this on themselves. Even my 8 yo suffering w/ burns is getting the MEDICAL and PHYSICAL attention from me and daddy but all our emotional energy and energy in general are focused on Cissy's issues. She called her 9 yo a f ing B last night. I ended up spanking her. Then I felt really bad. Not for spanking her but because I felt so much relief afterward.

Momma

You have such an overflowing plate. I am sorry that you world is revolving around your daughter right now. I can certainly see where its not fair to anyone in the family. If I remember right you have some people visiting your home to help with therapy etc. Maybe your daughter needs an increase in meds or maybe a new med?

I know its hard to determine whether her behavior is illness or attention seeking ? Her age is also a factor I am sure, gotta love hormones... Not!

I hope things settle down for you. You so need and deserve a break.

Sending lots of positive thoughts your way

I would be very blunt and to the point about your daughters actions. Maybe write a list tonight of things she has done? It's easy to forget things when your sitting with a therapist. I am hoping you and all your family get a break.

I write notes to my sons therapist because bad behavior = bad kid / bad kid = SH to him. So writing it down may keep peace a little. Does your school district offer an alternative school for "at-risk" kids? A lot or all of the teachers usually carry duel education/ psychology degrees to better help kids and give them more options. It may help you keep piece this summer. Do you have the option for family help, respite, or daycare so you can re-charge your battery?

I have my 2nd oldest son and his wife. They have been such a blessing to me! They take the kids every other weekend, they interviene w/ Cissy when I cant take it anymore, they come and help me clean b4 the therapist comes. They attend every in home they are not wking! My grown son that LIVES here w/ his wife- he does nothing to help. They come in from wk, go to their room and turn on Netflicks. When all this happened, his wife, who is a nurse, did change Beans' (the 8 yo who was burned) bandaging when he got out of the hospital everyday but since it has become less complicated now that all the blistering is gone, she doesnt even do that. MM- What does SH mean (in your "bad behavior, bad kid" equation)?

Ahhh! Now it makes sense! Cissy's problem is not SELF- harm but harm of others- she lashes out at other children, even adults. She once slapped my husband square thru the face at a picnic in front of several of our adult friends. I was surprised he held his temper and didnt beat her down right then and there. Im not sure how it would have played out if she had done the same thing to me!
