Has been a while since I wrote a post. Hav been feeling fine till the middle of this week. Since I started meds in Jan I've had 7 abscesses under my right arm so you can imagine the amount of antibiotics I've been taking. I've picked up weight, and my moods have been the same. Last week doc added another pill with some horendous side effects sometimes even fatal!!!! How can I drink this crap and still feel bad????? If it was a magic pill I would have taken it with joy! The doc says the underarm abcsess is not from meds!! We are moving out of RURAL KZN to a nice small town end of June so my spirit has been lighter and will probablY be a lot better when we are there seeing as the BP flared up when we moved here! I want to fit into my old clothes and be able to run a 3 km track without worries that my liver, kidneys or heart might fail am 27 and don't want this crap in my body! Is it normal to feel this way? Or am I just paranoid?? Help please.

It is totally normal to fear the side effects of medication. The best thing to do is to take all of your concerns to your doctor. I tend to chart or graph things for myself and my doctor. I chart mood changes on and off medications and keep records of anything that may be a possible bad side effect. Usually the doctors listen to concerns and may provide alternative medications that don't have severe reactions to them. You are perfectly normal for having these concerns.
Wishing you the very best. |

Have you talked to your p-doc?

if the abscesses continue, you may want to ask your pdoc for a trial off the med you think is causing it. Will you be getting a new pdoc when you move, or are you moving locally? I don't know enough about Africa to know what KZN is. Because if you are getting a new pdoc, you can always look at getting a trial of a new med or off the non working ones at that point.

I think it's completely OK, to want to be med free. Although, I have been through many med changes, and have stopped taking my meds many times, and, it never ends well. I wish I could tell you that someday you won't need medication, but I don't think that would be good advice. Right now, I have been med free for about 10 weeks, and, I'm doing well. But, I know from experience there will be a crash. It's a very vicious cycle I lead, so, I would say stick with meds. But, there are people on here that are managing well without, I'm sure you will hear from them. Take care, and good thoughts!
