It is good and bad. Good because it can drive me to do things I wouldn't normally do, just so I will learn not to be unreasonably anxious over things and sometimes it is so consuming, exhausting having to reason with anxious thoughts, waste of time and energy. Can't I just be reasonable the first time around?

Doesn't do any better to just give in either. Worse really.

And sometimes it is good because it prevents me from doing something stupid but, too much and prevents me from doing anything at all. Confidence is shot right now, someone went and threw a granade there too so, I'm picking up the pieces.

I always hated jigsaw puzzles.

ANXIETY!!!!!

I've been having so much lately and I probably spend the majority of my day battling with it, wasting my time, getting tired...exhausted, heart racing, hands shaking, swimming in sweat, no need for cardio workouts!

I can be logical, reason with it, challenge myself and face my fears but, end of the day? I just want to curl up in the fetal position, rock myself into a coma. No more thinking, no more anxiety.

I hate phases like this but, it's a phase. Three weeks from now, I'll wake up excited. That too, tiring.

I guess I'll end my rant and distract myself with something else.

Hope you got the distraction you sought out anxiety has many faces, I personally hate the skin-crawling type, it drives me up the wall, and the only thing that helps soothe me, is scrubbing myself from head to toe under scalding hot water. Idk why, maybe its bcos I visualize scrubbing the anxiety away... So sorry you're dealing with this crap, hope it passes soon

I hate anxiety, too. Mine gets so bad I make myself physically ill... not as much as I used to. As a kid I would just get sick. I've learned a lot of coping skills, but I still freeze up and get stuck a lot.

I hope today is better. You're right, it will pass. One of my best coping skills for anxiety is a mantra (sort of) "in six months this won't matter." I know, kind of silly, but it can help if I feel overwhelmed by something so small. And it reminds me that things change.

Facing your fears openly with yourself is the way to relieve anxiety. Forcing them into the unconscious just makes them that much more powerful. They lose their power when they are confronted and just float away and don't come back.

Try the lemon thing when they seem unsurmountable. (You know; cut a lemon in half and squeeze it into about 7 or 8 ounces of ice cold water. Wait 4 hours; if you aren't better, squeeze another one. Two lemons is usually enough to calm the system very nicely.)

Anxiety can put stress on the adrenal glands, increase acidity--not good--lemons are digested as highly alkaline and so soothe emotions and provide a detox for the liver, kidneys, and brain.

Thanks for this!

Walking 45 minutes can help, too.

I feel your pain. I quit smoking cigarettes 4 months ago, and I'm living in a constant state of anxiety it seems. I'm just trying to exercise and take deep breaths

I wish I could help more.

Peace & Hugs,

TnT
