Why is it so hard just to take a shower?
Why do I roll around in bed for 2 hours rather than get up and do something? Why does just the thought of doing something normal like going to the grocery store bunch up my stomach? Why do I worry that my relationships will be destroyed by my inaction, lack of participation and lack of joy? Why do I have to live knowing that this Bipolar thing will likely never go away and be an anchor around my neck for life? Why?

Sounds like depression to me. Lack of motivation, low energy, etc. If you treat the depression (sunlight helps some, being outside, actually taking that shower, cardio, an effective AD, social rhythm therapy, psychotherapy helps some people), you will feel better.
Having appointments in the morning would help you not linger in bed. |

Yeah, sounds like depression to me too.
Showering = self care. Us folk with bipolar love routines, you know. The best way to take a shower is to take it every day, and do it the same way everyday and around the same time. This helps improve self-care. And, even if you dread it, showering helps you feel human again. Going to the store sounds like anxiety to me. I don't like going either, and it is something I struggle with, but I'm the one who does the shopping. Forcing myself to do it and facing my anxiety makes it easier.

You sound a lot like me. Since I quit working, I have a hard time leaving the house and doing normal things too. Like the others said, routine helps. As far as going to the store, I used to make the others in my house do it, but now that they're gone, I have to force myself and it gets a little easier each time you do it. Sunlight definitely does help, when I'm in a major depression, if I force myself out on my porch into the sun, I start feeling better and start wanting to do something. Try it. It might help.

You sound depressed... Maybe some cardio will help, or a med tweak? Sorry you're feeling so low, really hope you get out of that funk soon, remember the sun WILL smile on you again, its the nature of this beast...
