It has been really hard for me to keep a positive attitude lately, but my daughter (7 years old) had to do a diorama this week as a home work assignmet and I'm PROUD to sya that I have helped her every night of this week and I saw her today walking into her classroom, huging the shoe box like it was the most precious thing in the world.
Things like that want me to be alive and enjoy the ride, even with the dark moments.
Have a great weekend everyone!!!!

There's nothing much better than watching a proud 2nd grader headed off to school--good work, Mom!

That is the magic our kids have on us, and you know this is a special moment for her, things that memories are made of.
I relate to this post, for it was the fact I have a child (he's now going on 20) that was my life force.
Kept me on earth, so I could be in his life, 3d, and not a memory of mommy checking out.
It's one thing if by illness or being killed, but not doing oneself in.
Going for the ride, has bumps, even detours, but it is all worth taking.
Take care and enjoy these times. The highlight of my Friday!!!

Dottie, because of my Bipolar stuff, kids are a trigger thing for me, can't stand the yieling sometimes, I get really agitated and irritable; but what I do is I go to her school for lunch every friday and I get to meet them, she introduce me to everybody and 15 minutes is a happy time for all of us.
Thank you so much!

Ohh I forgot to mention, when you go to have lunch with your child you can eat "OUTSIDE" lol, if it's inside, which I did during the winter, I can stay for 5 minutes, but at least she knows I'm there for her.

I can understand where you mention "triggering", I was a volunteer teacher aide from 830 to 1230, then was attending college part time, glad I switch to animal studies.
I volunteered 5 yrs Mon thru Fri. and witnessed a lot of negative stuff, bullies and the dumb parents that encouraged it and defended it when the problem was addressed to the kid's parents, the parents needed discipline way more than the bully kids. It tore my heart to even witness them bullying my son. I didn't want to do it but I brought it to the principal and teacher's attention, not just for hiim but the other victims of this nightmare so many kids deal with, ruining a kid's life from 1st to 8th grades. He was so happy in the HS he went to when we had hubby's job relo, it worked out great, he is now in his 2nd yr of college on scholarship and has terrific grades.
The upside working at the elementary school years ago, was the sweet kids, the serious students and their fantastic parents, that was the enlightening side.
Many of the bullies later grew up to be hoodlums/losers and their parents still defend them or cop out with some excuse.
All I can say, "enjoy your kids, spend times with them, go on weekend outings, even if it's just a walk in the park, we all grow old fast, life is short, live every minute to the fullest.
Bless you all The highlight of my Friday!!!

Darkeyes, you really touched my heart.
I'm dealing right now with 2 miscarriages I had, 1 a year ago and the other 3 years ago. Both babies really expected. It had left us, mu hubby and me, heartbroken. But we still have our sweet Victoria, which by the way, for her being here today with us is a Victory itself, and I'm trying really hard to keep everything together, if not form me, at least for her.
Thanks god, Victoria's school is great, haven't seen much of bullies here, but I know that is going to get tougher as she grows.
Anyway thank you so much!
