Haha One fine winter's evening I got mad at my hair and wanted the back to be shorter. I took the dog clippers to the back of my head and ended up with a bald spot near the top of my head. Fortunately I found a hairdresser that was open evenings and she sorta kinda fixed it for me.

When you have different friends/social groups for different moods.

When you decide in the middle of the night to re-organize the canned food in the pantry because if you don't, the world will end. Meanwhile, your half-asleep husband comes stumbling in, squinty-eyed, because all the lights are blaring as if it's the middle of the day and asks "What the hell you are doing? Trying to wake the whole neighborhood?" (Apparently I was in my own world and making too mucho noise for 3am).

When one day your ex is praising you for the wonderful human being you really are and the next she tells you that you "are pure evil" because you said something she didn't like.

Or maybe that makes HER bi-polar.....hmmmm.
Thanks for this!

I did something similar a few months back during a manic episode. Only with me, it was 2:30 in the morning when I got a wild hair and decided to rearrange my sock drawer. My husband woke up (I had both bedroom lamps AND the overhead light on) and said the same thing yours did. I told him I'd been looking for a pair of socks and decided to find all the mis-mates while I was at it.

He shook his head, incredulous. "But it's 2:30 in the morning," he protested.

To which I said "Yeah? What's your point?"

To which HE said "IT'S 2:30 IN THE MORNING!!"

Oh.

Lol yeah I can relate! I get in cleaning moods in the middle of the night. I never really have any energy in the day, it's weird

When I was in high school I did my homework at 3 am.
When I got married I cleaned the house at 3 am. (my husband was away from home all week at work, so not a problem for him or me).
When I was in my 40's I got a job working 12 hour night shifts at the police station, so I could take care of my sick parents during the day. My parents had me in their early 40's so by that time they were in their 80's.
Until I hit menopause I was up until 3-4 every night. Now I go to bed at 10-11 and get up at 3.
But, yeah, definitely a night person.

You know you're bipolar when you get stupidly excited to find that you've actually slept the whole night and woke up to your alarm!

You know you're bipolar when you get paranoid that a sleepless night might mean you're heading into a (hypo)mania.

You know you're bipolar when you get excited about actually feeling tired because it must mean that you actually aren't heading into a (hypo)mania.

...when your family looks confused because the story you thought made perfect sense is missing tons of details because you assumed the already knew.

When you find a new pair of shoes the elves made for you while you were asleep......aka......When someone you don't know, at some time during the night, left a suicide note in your own handwriting, next to your bed

bahaha I did that today. But that's cause it was 100 air miles for $100. So I spent $170. LOL. I had very little to actually buy.

When you donate $500 dollars to an organization because it is an absolute necessity and you must do it at that exact minute (and you can barely afford your bills).
When you believe the voice of God is helping you to cast out demons.
When you get in the ocean because God told you to (in your clothes, in the evening, when there is a red flag and you are by yourself).
When you believe that only you can understand the true meaning of the songs you hear.
When you are a mildly religious person who goes off the deep end spiritually.

Also, when your thoughts are so fast and hilarious you lol in random places.
When your thoughts are so fast you can't control them and start TALKING out loud in random places.
When you send random emails to random people sharing every detail (way TMI) you can about everything you can.

When you're up working out at 2 am
When when you can get by on 2-3 hours of sleep a night
When you start saying random things because you feel pressure to talk, even though you don't technically have anything to say

When you go through every page of this tread, neatly copy and pasting the comments most related to you in a word document to read to your husband so he would know you're really bipolar and not just crazy - as if he didn't know!

When you believe that almost everything is a sign from God who is leading you on some sort of mission. When you visit family members graves to get advice from them because you are absolutely certain that you can speak to the dead and they have secrets to tell. When ultimately you believe you are a god and can do anything you want in this world illegal or not.
