I have been out of work this time for about a month. I go back to dr tomorrow but am feeling more depressed and anxious for last 2 days. Am currently on latuda wellbutrin and klonopin. I am not sure that I see the light at the end of the tunnel at this time. Just don't see the stress of work improving my situation. Does anyone have any experience with this.

Yes, I do. FWIW I had to be out of work for at least a year before I was considered for disability. Now I would like to work again. Stress is the major concern for me.

I am utterly allergic to stress, and yet I continue to choose jobs that are VERY stressful. Still haven't figured out why.......guess it's just because I always think "this time it's gonna be different". Hope springs eternal and all that.
Personally, however, I think I'd have to be completely incapable of doing any meaningful work whatsoever before I'd go on disability. Not only because it's hard to get on SSDI with "only" a mental illness, but because the structure provided by a job is good for us. It keeps our hands and our minds busy, it forces us to stick to a schedule and adopt a routine that works for us, and it gets us out of our heads for awhile....all good things. Just my $0.02 worth. ![]()

I'm on ssd and feel very relieved to be honest. I am still able to work pt while I receive my ssd payments. If you find yr able to work ft then yr very lucky. My depression is so bad that I can't work much. It's even s huge struggle to work at all but i have no choice. I need the extra money to pay for my meds.

Time will tell. But if I go back to work ft and a few years later come out of remission, then what is going to happen to me? This concern of mine has plagued me for years.

@jack123...
I applied over a year ago, and it took a LONG time....a whole year before they said I was approved. I HAD to do it because I never know when I'm going to be in the pits, which happens A LOT! ![]()
