And what made it stop?

I get that when I'm super stressed. Drives me nuts. It goes away on its own after the stress abates, though.

It has been stressed induced for me too. I find that anything that can moderate the stress can help, like exercise. I find massages also help. This symptom eventually goes away. But for awhile in the past I did think it would be with me for the rest of my life.

This has been happening to me too!

It comes and goes. Pretty minor in my case, so I've never really worried too much. Is it supposed to be serious? My mood stabilizer causes some small body spasms/shaking every now and then, and I've consider those to be the slightly annoying things that I have to live with.

My left eye has been having it's top eyelid twitch on and off for a few months now. I'm not sure if it's stress or med induced but there it is.

B vitamins!!! And it would soon be a thing of the past - the twitching.

Really? I've regularly taken B vitamins over the last 1.5 years. Maybe I'm taking too low a dose? What's the recommendation?

Lack of sleep and too much caffeine are the most common causes, though some medications have facial tics as a side effect...

This has been happening to me too. It really is annoying, but after researching pretty extensively I've come to the conclusion it's probably not med related (I am on anti-psychotics which can cause movement disorders, but AP-related muscle twitches are in different locations and at a different intensity than the eye and leg twitches involved in what's called "Benign fasciculation syndrome"--eyelid twitches being one of the most common manifestations of this). I've come to the conclusion my eyelid and leg twitches are probably caused by a combination of caffeine, stimulant ADD medication, and possibly low magnesium and calcium. I'm supplementing the magnesium and calcium now and cutting back the caffeine a little bit. Hopefully that will get rid of the annoyance.

I haven't got eyelids twitches. But I've got leg twitches, though I do it voluntarily. I can pretty much stop it, but I can't feel truly comfortable unless I move & twitch my leg. I don't know if this is Trichotillomania
![]() But anyway, it doesn't cause me problems, unless when people in front of me recognize this, & so they treat me as if I'm nervous & anxious, although I move my leg to make myself calm ![]() |

Pure encapsulations, B complex plus, available on Amazon (you can see individual vitamin doses). The bottle suggests 1-2 capsules a day, but my nurse practioner said 2, for sure. The doses need to be morning and night (divided). I will now take them regularly. In the past, I would take them PRN and they would help within a week - they were recommended by an old Dr friend now deceased. Knock on wood, now that I am taking them routinely, I have no symptoms, but it has not been long enough to be sure. |

Do you have suggestions for organic restless legs syndrome? I have it, but my doctors haven't been able to come up with any solid suggestions.

I don't have RLS, but I get akathisia easily, even on drugs that normally do not produce Akathisia. For that reason, I stayed away from Abilify (25% incidence of akathisia), because my pdoc friend told me that with my strong propensity towards akathisia, I would definitely get it on Abilify. Last time I got akathisia on a transatlantic flight strapped in a window seat. So much fun! I definitely sympathize with your plight. |

Thanks. I haven't tried gabapentin. My neurologist and pdoc sometimes have conflicting suggestions/prescriptions, even though they try to stay consistent with each other. Drug interactions might be a reason why they haven't considered gabapentin, but it's something to bring up.
