About a week ago I started feeling a lot better than I had been. doing all my work was easier and I was staying up until 4 in the morning just not tired. I was laughing and joking around at work and people were looking at me strange and asking if I was ok. I was able to clean my room and get other things done that I had been neglecting.and was feeling tmore sexual as well as irritable. I was snapping at people and feeling like I wanted to throw punches. all this is normal for me. what is more rare is this foggy headed feeling where I feel kind of mentally lost and just strange like I'm forgetting something. like last Friday I thought it was Saturday then Saturday I thought it was Friday. now today I've been thinking its Thursday. Yesterday I was telling my be something and completely lost my train of thought in the middle. it was just gone nowhere to be found and I really tried to remember. I am still irritable and have wanted to throw things like my phone across the room. I know its not because I'm depressed because my depression doesn't consist of all this. its just driving me crazy.

and forgetting that I already flushed the toilet once and flushing it again like I just did lol

Maybe it is your meds making you foggy. I think my brain has shrunk in size by 50% since I started taking psych meds.. 3 weeks ago went into work because I thought it was Friday. What an ***! Best wishes.

The behavior you describe sounds a lot like hypomania. Are you medicated at all?

I'm on an antidepressant and a sleep aid. I've been too scared to try a mood stabilizer or antipsychotic. always hear bad things but lately I've heard not all of them are so bad so I might talk to my pdoc about it. I've always felt still depressed for the 7 years. I've been on antidepressants. maybe not as bad most tImes but still depressed

I've recently been through a similar episode (the irritibility was severe..) and am also only on antidepressants (I've been off Seroquel for a while - which was a stupid decision). My friend who has BP II is on Sodium Valproate (Epilim) for it, which is actually used to treat Epilepsy by preventing excessive electric activity in the brain, but is now also used to treat the manic side of bipolar. She's been on it for 15+ years and has no side effects. I'm going to talk to my pdoc about it next week and see what he thinks. Just thought you might want to look into it if you are afraid to try a mood stabiliser/antipsychotic per se. Although, Seroquel helped me a lot, just knocked me out pretty fast and made me feel a bit zombielike. Everyone is different though!

If you are bipolar and on only an antidepressant, it is very likely that you might be flirting with the manic side of the syndrome. I think it's a great I idea for you to talk to the pdoc about it. There are some relatively benign mood stablizers like lithium and lamictal.

Good luck.

Honestly I don't get that many side effects from my antipsychotics and mood stabilizers. I've gained a little weight, but honestly I really needed that. At first I did feel sleepy but that stopped, and I need to take a medication to stop restlessness from Saphris but that's it really. There may very well be an antipsychotic/mood stabilizer that won't give you many side effects and will help a lot. So I'd try to be open to trying something. I mean if worst comes to worst you can always stop taking them.
