When I am on my medications for awhile they just quit working, Ive taken alot of meds, that now my doctor doesnt no where else to turn. Right now Im on Depokote, Seroquel, and Welbutrin but there not working anymore, and my doctor doesnt want to take me off of them. He wont even try something new and Im to the point that if there not going to work why should I even bother taking them. In 2005 I was in a crisis hospital 6 times from July until November and once in 2006, because I couldnt take the way I felt I wasnt gitting any better I was gitting worse so I tried to end my life. I felt that nothing was ever going to change and I still feel that. I feel so hopeless, and that I dont have anything to live for. So I just want to die, when I try or think about killing myself it only ends me up in a hospital not died.

Medication is so hard.....I have failed dozens. It hasn't been pretty at all. I have children that are bipolar as well. For all of us, Lithium doesn't do anything. But Seroquel has worked well. Possibly, the Depakote, which I have taken with no success should be changed. Not saying Seroquel is for all, but I was taking that along with Trileptal which are both for mood disorders. Of course, I take Wellbutrin, what would life be without an antidepressant? My doctor also tried me on Levoxyl, which is an underactive thyroid medication. New studies have shown a stiumlating thyroid medication can also stave off some of the bipolar symptoms as well. I take Klonopin as well as needed. Unfortunately it is needed more othen than I would like. I do want to tell you though, I am about to try to get pregnant so I have been tapered off all my meds but the Seroquel, and I am doing terrible. Point being the proper drug cocktail is hard to find, you must discuss with your doctor that it just doesn't work for you. Something different for everybody, my twins who are bipolar have slightly different meds because that is what worked for them. Don't wait!!! Trust me, I have and the results were not good. Hope this gives you a little insight as I live bipolar with 3 kids with it and me everyday and that is just the start. Please post how you do!!!!

Hello I hope things get better for you soon. Ihope the dr can help you as well, so you can get more in control with your disorder. I am going to leave you a number to call for Free Medication 1-800-921-0072. If you call this number the company will send you an application that your Dr can fill pout for you to get medication for Free it is called the FreeMedicineProgram. You can find them on the internet. Also if you call the Salvation Army in your area, there is food and rent assistance for most people, and they can help guide you to agencies that may can help you with bills, rent or food. Take care Soidhonia
