At present I have no friends, no love relationship, and no job. My finances are destroyed and I can't engage in any activity. I live with my 84 year old mother, and I only see sickness and death ahead of me.
I need to engage myself in something, I used to be quite talented in many areas, but during this phase of depression I can't access any of my good qualities. Days are so empty. I wish I could find some kind of activity. |

why not start with a simple distraction like a funny movie from redbox or netflicks if you cant afford the theatre. a walk in the park taking time to feed the birds your stale bread. think back to the things you used to enjoy and try out a few of those and see if any of them don't bring you joy again. I know it is difficult to engage in activities when depressed but it is important to engage in them anyway and keep at it. your brain will benefit. take care.

Hi. I'm new to this forum and empathize with your situation. I've lost everything, my entire life, to Bipolar II. I am bankrupt due to maxing out 3 big credit cards on manic business investments, and since I am too fatigued to work, and since I've been denied government assistance, I am in poverty. I, too, live with my parents, and my friends have given up on me, leaving me very lonely. If you need an activity, I find that the only thing I can do is write. It doesn't take too much energy, though it can if you let it, but if you just write for fun, without pressuring yourself to create something amazing, it's very therapeutic. If loneliness is pulling you down, feel free to send me a message. I'm willing to chat back and forth if you need to.

Brazilian, I need friends. I am in exactly the same boat except I living with my 76 year old and nearly blind. So, I drive him everywhere he needs since he cannot drive, and do yardwork, and house repair/maintenance. So, you are definitely not alone. If I didn't have my father, the stage where I'm at with this disease is, I would be homeless.
