I took a 3 hour nap after the kids got home from school. Thats how tired i am lately. Bedtime in about 1/2 an hour.

I'm just wondering if it could be negative symptoms which is a little different than depression and much harder to treat with meds but it is intermittent....I know a couple of times this year I felt certain things had no value and rather intensely so...first my job then any social interaction. I knew it was wrong but I still felt that way...have you talked with your doctors about negative symptoms of sza as opposed to depression or comorbid with depression? Mine only lasted about a week at a time so I don't know how to treat it officially ...I tried a sun lamp the first time but then my pdoc warned me it might make me manic so I had to be really careful but still it took the edge off for me and while I wasn't 100% I stopped doing zero at work....anyway just wanted to ask that and really wishing you all the best that you might feel better soon....

What are nehative symptoms exactly?

Some of them overlap with depression like lack of pleasure and motivation but there can issues with ability to express emotion like you don't look either happy or sad to your friends just flat and expressionless where if you're depressed you can look sad.

What struck me was how things had no value...things I would normally care about seemed neither postive nor negative just very unimportant in general. Things essentially become neutral and valueless.

Again they are new to me so I don't know much....you might get better answers on the sz and p forum or the sza forum if you think you might have them. Also I would ask your pdoc and T because they would know better...

Zyprexa is pretty strong if ur not manic ask ur doctor if its necessary to continue it. When i was on it i was very quiet would go to have dinner with my family snd hardly say a word. Would talk to my girlfriend on the phone snd itd be awkward because i wouldnt talk. I had no motivation for anything, didnt even feel like wstching tv.

Now im on lithium alone and i feel like myself, i really do

If i dont take an antipsychotic all hell breaks loose. And i am averse to them all except zyprexa.

Zyprexa suppresses my personality too much. I become a boring person, extremely quiet. I'm only on lithium now, what r u on now moose? Hang in there

I sorry you feel so depressed, Moose72. Zyprexa will definitely help. it does have an extreme sedative effect on some people, especially since your pdoc increased the does, it takes a while to feel normal, but you need it right now. It will help. It works fast, at least you don't have to wait weeks for it to kick in! Sometimes you just need the rest in a safe place. Being in bed, watching TV, curled up with the heating pad sounds good right about now! Hang in there Moose!!!! We're here for you.
