I set a new record in online Scrabble today and finally feel like my game is improving. I'm relying less on studying and more on playing by my wits and it's a much more enjoyable experience.

I also passed the 16th anniversary of my worst suicide attempt yesterday. I worry about this time of year as in the past i've felt pretty desperate. But this year i feel good and am hopeful i will pass this dreadful month without incident.

what made you smile today

I've seen the first part of this before but I've never seen this version. I thought it was hilarious.

My dog stole my slippers and i set yet another new record in online Scrabble. My game has definitely improved now after languishing for more than a decade. So happy to see progress at last. I feel better overall -- making decisions more quickly and easily and even having a degree of equanimity. I haven't felt this good in the usually dreadful month of January since i was a kid -- i'm 48. Yay life!

Being told by my son that he loves me.

Watching one of our kittens trying to entice our old cat to play.

Watching my daughters play with our kittens and seeing their joy.
