I totally colored mandalas after my grandmother passed! It's one of the few things that kept me sane then!!

Happy triggers for me is relaxing, doing nice things for others is truly appreciate, trying to copy or relive old happy experience moments, or reminiscing about good times/past experiences... Trying something new that's crazy and I'm afraid to do (like eating escargot... And end up liking it!! Lmao)

Also spending "me time" setting aside time to pamper/relax/or enjoy life's little things... Planning future goals and dreams (and not pressuring myself to reach them but slowly working towards them)
Considering where I've come from in a happy moment, enjoying life.. And of course eating good food!!! (And trying not worrying I'm overweight as we only live once and life is too short!!!) working at loosing a few pounds, and not weighing myself when I secretly know I probably gained it back! Lmao

Just being alive!!! That makes me happy truly!

I bought an inexpensive mP3 player a couple of weeks ago. I loaded it with music that gets me moving and lifts my mood ( temporarily). That way I can put it on during the day and get some housework and cooking/baking done without disturbing the neighbours or my sleeping cat.

I feel better when I've accomplished things around the house, but some days it's hard to get moving. A bit of peppy music through headphones gets me going.

I'm going on a weekend vacation next week to visit friends out of town. Hoping that'll help since I don't have any friends to spend time with here, and I haven't seen these friends since January.

This is such a great thread! Spending time with my husband, walking around our farm with my dog, and eating healthy are all things that make me happy. I want to work on getting more exercise too.

I like to make lists and then tick off items once they are done. It gives me great satisfaction which contributes to the feeling of hapiness.

This words especially good when in a depressed state.

Photography. Simply going for a walk with my phone and capturing things of interest, anything from flowers, buildings, landscapes, shadows and patterns in the water, anything that takes my fancy at the time. It is very relaxing, and you get to relive them when you upload them onto the computer

Having a hobby! My hobbies keep me going. I read, knit and DIY my own beauty products and cleaners/washing powder etc. It keeps my mind occupied and helps me to calm down, at the same time as it is productive. Great to look at a finished project and say; "I made that"!

I just came to San Diego for a business trip from cold and dark north of other side of the planet. At car rental, i impulsively upgraded the regular ****box to Mustang convertible. Well i'll pay the couple of hundred dollar difference myself if company accounting begins their usual complaining!

I pick vegetables from my garden. There's something therapeutic about working in the dirt and seeing the seed I planted turn into something edible.

When I ride I am completely focused. I forget about depression. The way it feels to sit in the saddle, and the feel of my feet in the stirrups.....it is so right.

I am working on the biggest craft project I have ever done. I am knitting a blanket for my brother for Christmas. I've been working on it all year. His mom dropped him a hint he's getting something really nice from me for Christmas. So she told him what piece of china from my china pattern I badly want.

Long shower as a serious relaxation.

I couldn't take a shower before I head to work today, I couldn't stand how dirty I felt all day, so when I came back home, I spent easily more than an hour in the shower, scrubbing head to toe, even used facial peeling gel, had a shave and even shaved my chest. I used my good soap of course, bunch of skin care products after that. And I'm like half way done after blow drying my hair, I still want to flat iron my hair, do some work on eyebrows, If I think too much, this might get into some kind of obsession.

That said, I want to do this better, 'happy shower time' or whatever, I'm a guy who doesn't have a relaxation regimen, such as yoga, gardening or biking, I just don't want to start a new thing, then I might've found what I could do at home tonight.

My body hair, they are normal I suppose, but they bother me sometimes, and I shave them every now and then. Now I'm thinking doing more, like every other day if I can manage it.

This and other thread about 'key to happiness' are making me realize that what I think is making me unhappy, I can work on them, and they won't cost me much, all I need is a structure. And also, I threw away my shower pouf today, I just couldn't do it for a long time, I already have 6 spares! What was I doing? Yes, it was making me unhappy just a little bit every single day.
