Today when I was mountain biking with my friend I got really anxious and paranoid. I had thoughts that these people on the trails were going to attack me towards the end of the ride. I was walking up this hill and I got really anxious and started to freak out. He took me on an 8 mile ride up these really big hills and it was too much for me to handle mentally at the end. I had thoughts that I was out of shape, I had suicidal thoughts, and paranoid thoughts. I thought cute little dogs and their owners were going to attack me. I take 80 mg of latuda, 32 mg of perphenzine and 3 mg of risperdal. I don't know if the APs are working that well. I don't know if my mood stabilizer is working that well either. I've felt really depressed for a month because my old pdoc had a stroke and other things made me depressed. Will the paranoia go away or should I find a new anti-psychotic? I got pretty shaken up today. Do any of you guys get paranoid?

I do get paranoid. Mostly that people have cameras watching me. Zyprexa has helped me through that.

No, it never goes away, but you learn how to control it better

Weird I came across this post. I still am...it lessened after medications. But I came to some realizations a few days ago that a lot of people have the same symptoms that I do. I learned to stop them and to tell myself what's the truth and what is not.

CBT helps, I've done that on my own. Google it. It changes your thought process...good habit.

I realized that everything has a name....and everyone has their own problems and thee are more common ones. We just have to learn how to cope. It can't happen over night, but with time, it gets better if you work on it and do all you are supposed to do to help yourself. Try new techniques!

I wouldn't say it "goes away", at least not completely, but the paranoia does get quieter. They change from deafening screams to annoying murmurs. I used to have a lot of paranoid thoughts-some admittedly strange-but I can now identify these thoughts when they come and they no longer have control over me. I can't really say when this will happen for you, as it is different for everyone. Perhaps taking a day to enjoy a calm, meditation could help you gain clarity.
