Today I slept all day and stayed in my room for the most part. I maybe moderately depressed at the moment (body image). However I also had no plans and my anxiety has been high. Has anyone ever had anxiety while doing nothing?

Yes. Anxiety is always creeping around waiting for my mind to be available to focus on things that I'm afraid of. My best defense for keeping anxiety away is to always be doing something, keeping my mind occupied.

All the time - I need to be busy but not so busy that I'm off the wall. I just like accomplishing things. I like to read and relax, but I've never been a sit-on-the-beach-for-six-hours person.

Yes. I think it is part of my GAD. Occasionally, I get very high anxiety during the situation you describe...hanging out, not doing much. My anxiety morphs into what feels like a foreboding fear. It's very unsettling. I feel like something bad is going to happen and that something is very, very wrong - but I do not know what it is. It's a horrible feeling. For me, it often is a sign of potential psychosis.

That is exactly what I feel.

Thinking of you. I know that things do NOT feel ok right now, but they are OK. And this will not last forever. It WILL pass. You are NOT alone.

Also, it may not be symptoms of pending psychosis, at all. That is just MY personal experience and I usually can talk myself down by thinking exactly what I typed above. Sometimes I will ask my boyfriend just to give me a hug and tell me things are OK.

Boogie, things ARE OK, hang in there. If you find yourself feeling like you are in a bad spot or it keeps getting worse - call your pdoc.

I do understand and I'm thinking of you. Hang in there. This is temporary. Remind yourself of this..Things like distracting myself, turning all the lights on in my house, petting my cats, doing a household chore....these little things add up and help me.

I see you take Klonopin. I do, too. This is likely a good time to take one.

My PM box is open to you. xo

I've been anxious just trying to go to sleep at night, and I wake up in the middle of the night with anxiety. I have klonopin to help me deal with it.

I've been there. Sometimes my anxiety is higher when I'm not doing anything than when compared to when I'm actually doing something. It depends. When I get like that, it's because my thoughts are racing, and I feel I need and outlet for all my nervous energy...and when I'm laying around, I am unable to release it all.

Yes.

I get really high anxiety after waking up from a nap or just waking up in the morning. To the point where I wake up shaking and my heart pounding. I have bad anxiety dreams all of the time.

When I do nothing my anxiety loves to beat me up. I HAVE to stay occupied.

Definitely. It's usually surrounding anticipating anxiety-producing activities (the worst for me, are going to work and paying bills), but there are times when I'm really not sure why I'm so anxious. It really sucks, so I feel for you. As someone said, keeping busy can help. When I'm really involved in something (including being at work once my worst fears aren't realized) I feel better. I guess it's about distracting myself from it.
