I pretend to work out these days, needing motivation to get back into a regular routine. That being said when I'm into it I love lifting weights and I used to be a personal trainer. I think this thread could potentially be pretty cool.

I'm planning on starting Jason Blaha's Ice Cream Fitness 5x5 program. But I've been waiting for an elbow injury to calm down the past couple weeks...trying to avoid visiting the orthopedist, but I don't think this approach is working out for me.

Regular exercise has been one of my best antidepressants. It doesn't work when I'm too depressed to do anything, of course, but when I'm in maintenance mode, it's been a wonderful stabilizing influence.
I just jacked up my hip doing a half marathon and haven't been able to run for a week and a half. It's not great. My mood is already slumping. Exercise is really important! I've tried lifting, but it doesn't work all that well for me, personally. I do like trail running, rock climbing, and yoga. I cannot wait for this stupid hip pain to go away so I can get back into it. Rock climbing is really the best. Hauling yourself up a wall is incredible for relieving stress. That's my cool workout. |

When I start to get depressed and want to self harm I go the gym and run or bike until I almost puke. It is a good way for me to handle my moods.

![]() I used to powerlift, but after a lumbar fusion (ironically, not from the gym) I'm really limited. There's no reason I can't use the machines, I've just become lazy and fat. |
