I'm feeling queasy. I haven't taken my meds in fear that I'll throw up. And actually, I had a really bad experience once where I threw up a decent amount of blood and I was on the side of the road 25 miles from home (I was with my parents and they had to call an ambulance to pick me up), so I now get a panic attack every time I throw up. It's awful

What do you guys do when you feel sick like this?

Lay down or in a recliner...motionless (movement makes it worse) drink tiny sips of water or some ginger ale....I have tons of barf bags so I always have them ready, in my purse, car, several rooms in the house. Sometimes I feel much better after I vomit and I do it more frequently than the average person so it's a good thing I don't have a phobia. That sounds really terrible and traumatizing and your fear is understandable. Feel better.
Thanks for this!

When i feel nausea I go for the strongest peppermints I can find, and keep popping them so my sinuses are cool and I only taste peppermint. The aroma actually helps you breath easier, and that means a lot in itself. Peppermint also helps calm the digestive system.

I can relate to the panic while vomiting. Most of my panic attacks end up with me dry heaving, so nausea when not anxious causes panic because it feels the same I think.

I sip peppermint tea when my tummy is upset too. Got an electric tea kettle and everything so it heats up fast. Unless you have those on hand though, it won't be very useful...but getting it for next time.....or the peppermints are a much neater and easier idea. Peppermint is very calming to my tummy but mints actually upset it for some reason...otherwise I'd get gum and mints.

smoke some weed if you have any

if you have someone who can prescribe some Zofran (ondansetron) it works well

or small sips of a simple syrup or ginger ale

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. They helped a lot.

I ultimately made peppermint hot cocoa since I don't like tea. (I dripped some peppermint extract in there and took baby sips.)

@yoda: I've taken Zofran before and I have a bottle of it in my room somewhere, but I think it's long expired. I got it when I went to the hospital 2 years ago.
Thanks for this!
