fractal thinking (mixed maybe?)

My mind feels fractured into millions of pieces. You know how our brains tell us certain things are alike and other things aren't? Like if you have a book, you can expect a certain shape and maybe typeset and other common features with other books. My mind seems unable to recognize things as in common with each other. Each book stands out as a singular object. Which makes a bookcase full of books a container of unique objects... I just can't look at it. My brain is trying to process a million things at once, all these features that it should see as common but now sees as singular. It's unbearable to be awake and interacting with the world. I can't read. Can barely write this.*I want to throw things and scream, but I can hold back.*

What is happening to me? I'm sleeping a lot so I'm not manic. Is it possible to start having manic symptoms before sleep symptoms? The last time I felt this way I was in a mixed episode same time last year.

Hello franz kafka: I'm sorry I would not know what to suggest with regard to what you describe. This is beyond my experience. But I saw no one had replied to your post. So I thought I would. From my perspective, I would think this would be something that would be important to discuss with whatever mental health professionals you are working with. I suppose it could be medication related. Or perhaps there is even something going on with you physically that is affecting how you are perceiving things. I'm sorry I don't have something more substantive to offer. Perhaps other members here on PC, who do have more to offer, will yet reply. I wish you well...

Franz, your recent posts here make me think it would be good for you to have a serious talk with a psychiatrist. It seems you have a lot of symptoms that need attention.

That sounds like the visual equivalent to when sound does that- hear every distinct sound instead of a common din.

I'm meeting pdoc tomorrow. Have also been emailing with my tdoc. She's suggesting going to the ER but I don't think I'm quite that bad yet. Thanks for the advice.

I totally agree you should tell your pdoc. I see fractals when manic and become obsessed with their visual description of chaos and infinity. It is truely amazing stuff but can do your he'd in if your are not thinking straight.

How did the meeting with your psychiatrist go?

Upping the seroquel. Let's see if that does anything. Thanks for asking.
