I'm getting used to eating 1200 calories again. I had three meals and a snack today. I can't believe i fit all that in! I even had McDonald's. I had an Egg McMuffin with no meat and a hash brown. That was my treat for my good weigh-in yesterday. Yum!

I'm also getting my hours sorted out. I got up later and later all Winter until i was getting up at 2:00pm. It was getting hard to get things done and my day was chaos. Now, for the third day in a row i've gotten up at 8:00am and i have time to take care of business and my day is orderly again. Such a relief! It's hard but not as hard as i thought it would be.

Well it is mardi gras season and lots of parades, festivities and partying abound! for the past 2 weekends.

That means good food and dance and drink and fun!
No parades today but one monday (lundi gras) then a king cake party.
then off for fat tuesday where there will be parades all day and tents set up with people barbequing all along the 3 mile parade route up to the fair grounds. we may walk the entire way. Jeff likes to get chicken on a stick from the food vendors at the fair. and I like to ride the ferris wheel. but the 3 mile hike back to our car is tough. We may or may not do that this year.
It is family friendly not like new orleans which is adult oriented.

Even the mail shuts down for mardi gras!

Jeff is off work monday thru wednesday. which is ash wednesday the starting of lent. WE are not catholic but the vast majority of the residents here are. and they will more than likely give up something for lent. a friend of ours gives up alcohol. He does so to prove to himself that he is not an alcoholic.

I leave on saturday for florida with my family. It should be fun. talked to my sister tonight there are items that I did not think about that I need to figure out.

I just ate the last of the halloween candy 3 small recees peanut butter cups. yum

had lasagna for lunch with swiss chard and zuchinni squash. very good, hubby is off of school, unniversity is closed for mardi gras till thursday.
I am working today, he is off. He went and picked up a king cake for his mother and had it mailed to her. then went back and ordered us one...he waited for it so it was still warm when He brought it home. Delicious!

Breakfast: Hard boiled egg, half slice of ham, and toast
Lunch: Leftover fish and a bowl of cornflakes (I was really hungry)
Snack: a few chips and French onion dip
Dinner: Makeover Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas

Blood sugar was low, so I had more carbs. It worked out.

I stayed on my diet today and am enjoying getting mildly hungry several times a day before i eat. I so enjoy my simple dinners by candlelight. I found out that a new restaurant is opening at my neighborhood mall! I'm so happy because we've been without a proper sit-down restaurant at the mall for a couple years. I like to go out for lunch every day. I'm sure i'll be able to find something suitable on the menu -- probably a salad as i don't eat them at home since they're so perishable. It opens this Spring.

I got a lot done today. I cleaned out the corner of my hallway which has been cluttered and vexing me, mocking me, since my Winter depression hit. I trucked things down to storage and swept and mopped. It makes my heart a little lighter to see my nice, clean, tidy hallway.

I got my taxes done and booked a plumber to come see about my shower which has been on the fritz for months -- hot then cold, hot then cold. I bought a new toaster to replace my old one which has been malfunctioning for weeks -- a fire hazard.

I got up at 8:00am again and am so enjoying my orderly, predictable days. It's so nice knowing that it's two hours to lunch, forty minutes til dinner -- stuff i could never tell during my Winter depression when i was getting up later and later until i was getting up mid-afternoon and my days were chaos.

I feel very content and healthy and pleased with myself! It was a kick-@$$ sunny day!

- chicken drumsticks and Indian eggplant and infused water (very cold! loved it!) for lunch
- buckwheat with milk for breakfast, as usual
- the plan for dinner: turkey breast, brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper; compote or Lassi, depending upon hunger (Lassi if still hungry, compote if just thirsty).

My diet has been very boring lately. Every day I have oats, berries, sunflower seeds, maple syrup and yogurt for breakfast, rice milk with protein powder and vitamin powder for lunch and things like baked beans and mixed vegetables for dinner. At least it is healthy. Cooking interesting, more difficult meals is very low on my list of things to do. Since the flare-up in exhaustion and pain kicked in real bad on Saturday I have stopped exercising and probably won't be able to for a week or so. This is frustrating but I must let my body heal. So far I think my weight has not changed.

I've been inpatient the last 9 days. All I ate during that time was plain bagels for breakfast and hummus and vegetables or vegetable stir fry. I managed to lose weight in the hospital because I couldn't eat anything on the menu except the above, and I drank a ton of water.

Now that I'm back home I want to eat more vegetables and hopefully keep that weight off!

Today was another good day in dieting except i got too hungry before dinner and had it half an hour early. I must remember to have a small snack mid-afternoon so i'm not so desperately hungry come dinner time.

Today i did lots of tidying and even some cleaning. Guess my Spring Cleaning is starting. It's welcome indeed!

I got up early again, even before my alarm at 8:00am. Yay!

Been eating like crap lately. Just not hungry, I guess.

Yesterday I ate 2 chocolate donuts with chocolate frosting on top. That was it

Today I've been eating crackers. Might get some takeout vegetarian lasagna for lunch. Not exactly the "healthiest" choices, but whatever. Too irritated and upset to eat healthier

Breakfast: Oatmeal with strawberries, banana slices, and pecans, and a slice of ham
Lunch: Leftover Happy Family (without the rice)
Dinner: Flavorful Chicken Fajitas

The fajitas were really tasty but not spicy hot. May need to add more chili powder or cayenne for heat. They were also very juicy, but that was part of the fun.

I had a busy day but stuck to my diet. I found i was able to skip morning and afternoon snacks because i was so busy. For the first time since my Winter depression hit i attended the ladies' morning coffee break held in the building twice a month. I had a super fun time! I can't wait until the next one!

In the afternoon i whipped myself into a frenzy, doing five loads of laundry on three different floors and sorting clothes strewn around my bedroom in overflowing storage tubs. I put the tubs out on the balcony and you can see the floor in my bedroom again! I swept up all the dust bunnies and dog fur and threw the windows open to the fresh air. Yay Spring cleaning!

I'm physically a wreck now, very sore all over, especially my lower back. Racing all over the building and throwing around storage tubs and toting laundry baskets and detergents really has taken a toll on my bod, so rundown from my Winter depression.

I had a follow up visit from the plumber re my shower which is still on the fritz and a visit from the Superintendent as it is a problem with the building plumbing. I started negotiations to get all or some of the money i paid the plumber yesterday when he said he fixed the problem by replacing the showerhead. Their office will call me to discuss what can be done about the money and i plan to be assertive and stick to my guns and be a broken record if necessary. I enjoyed negotiating a great deal on a pair of glasses last Spring so i'm hopeful i can have a repeat performance.

I decided to follow my own advice and take that online DBT course BoogieSmash posted about. I got the three books online and am working thru them on my own as best i can as the next session of online classes doesn't start til mid-May. There's some good stuff in there! I especially liked the biosocial theory of emotional dysregulation.

Aces!
