almond butter is a good option too.
The more protein you can get the better. I don't know if you do smoothies or not but that is one way to get more protein using protein powders.
Do you eat eggs?
You need to eat ever few hours while following a vegan diet..
I agree you are not eating enough.

Yeah, I have weight loss, but I'm fairly certain it has to do with hyperthyroidism... but I just don't have the Dx for it. My metabolism is technically borderline, or so my blood tests results say. So my dr is saying I'm "normal" even though I have a family history of hyperthyroidism. I've been at that cusp for a while now, too. It sucks. So I probably need more than 3500 cals for per lb if I'm honest

The worst part is that I have familial hypocholesterolemia (314 total cholesterol)... so I have to eat healthy (i.e., I shouldn't have been eating those cupcakes or that cinnamon bun). So it makes weight gain harder, if that makes sense. I also happen to like exercise, like kayaking, biking, snowboarding, swimming, etc..

I'm actually supposed to stay away from meat and dairy (per doctor's orders), although I don't really like meat anyway. If I eat dairy, it's fat-free yogurt and the like. But healthy fats are okay. The best of both worlds is olive oil, and it's one of my favorite things to eat. But yeah, it's a tricky balance for me. I do have atorvastatin for my cholesterol, but it's still not healthy to eat junk food because then I'll have to raise my atorvastatin dose. If I raise that dose, it further reduces the efficacy of my other meds, as meds are metabolized in the liver and atorvastatin affects liver function because it's trying to tell the liver to stop producing so much cholesterol.

I don't look like death tho -- thank god.

could you eat eggs?
they do not raise your cholesterol.
high carbs do.
try to encorporate more protein in your diet. like protein powders in smoothies. or body builders shakes with 30 grams of protein. or even atkins shakes. not for weight loss. but to supplement your meals. inbetween.
I am sorry that food is such an issue for you.
I have trouble eating too much. my total cholesterol is 284 but my hdl is 148 so they are not concerned.

I can eat eggs; I'm just not a huge fan of them. I guess that's why I prefer yogurt and milk, but both are not so great for me. So maybe eggs are the way to go.

And yeah, I should probably do protein shakes. Those are fine. I was actually thinking of using them in place of water during my meals. But I've heard that eating a bunch of meals during the day speeds up your metabolism -- is that truee?

I have a low HDL, unfortunately. That's why my total cholesterol is so bad. I actually think that atorvastatin (Lipitor) is why I have to be on high doses of meds (e.g., 400mg of Lamictal, 20mg of Abilify, etc.). It sucks .

2 scrambled eggs with some shredded cheese=20 grams of protein. That is what you shoot for at every meal.

Beating myself up a little because I gained 3 pounds with all the alcohol and carbs I consumed this weekend. I'm trying to drink a **** ton of water to flush out the alcohol water weight. I'm afraid I'll never break 200. Low carb is the only thing that has worked even a little. But I had to go mess it up.

But what's done is done. I've been on track for the last two days. I did so well in January! No cheats the whole month. My pattern before was doing well during the week and then bingeing all weekend, hence why I never lost any weight. I didn't do that in January. So I think I need to try to pull it together. Go the whole month of feb. with no cheats. See if I can lose any more weight.

I really want to fit back into my clothes :-( I've been buying some new clothes here and there but I really like all my medium tee shirts and I want to wear them in the summer. And my work clothes are expensive! I can't buy new ones all the time. I have so many pairs of pants that I can't wear right now.

But it's ok. I just have to pick myself up and dust myself off. Only 22g of carbs today and yesterday. I hope to at least lose the three pounds I gained this week. We will see how it goes. Trying to be positive. When I get down on myself Is when I just say **** it and eat everything in sight.

Swam fast (while snorkelling and watching the beautiful reef and fish) for 20 min five days in the last week. Plus the 10ish minute walk up steep hills to get to the beach. Feeling good. Going to rain the next few days so I think I will take a break and let my body rest.

I made chicken salad from leftover roasted chicken:

- white and red chicken meat, diced
- green grapes, halved
- pomegranate seeds and some juice
- pecans (probably roasted - from Trader Joe's)
- diced celery
- mayonnaise
- honey
- salt
- pepper
- apple cider vinegar

It was good, but a little on the dry side. Next time I will increase mayonnaise and also try dicing peeled green apple. I will also try red grapes for a change, or dried cranberries soaked in boiling water, to see what flavor I prefer. If I can find poppy seeds, I will sprinkle them on the salad, too.

It is a very filling salad and a good way to use leftover chicken.

I ate SO poorly yesterday. It's because I went to work!!

Breakfast: cupcake, cinnamon scone, cinnamon roll, rice crispies treat, 4 snackwells vanilla cookies (with the creme in between)

Lunch: soup and sandwich at Panera

Snack: bag of kettle chips!!

I was so bad yesterday. Very bad cheat day

Also ate 2 cupcakes for breakfast today, along with a bagel... s.hit

bizi, good news is that I'm working from home today! Too much snow to go into work... thank god. Now I don't have to drool over the free food at work.

Weight didn't change from yesterday, but I'm sure my cholesterol did!! Poor cardiac system...

I bought a "Blender Bottle" (it's a shaker bottle) on Amazon for my protein shakes, but it doesn't arrive until thurs. It was supposed to arrive earlier, but my Amazon credit card was stolen! Had to change payment methods

Dinner: Two hot dogs and a pickle spear

Oh, I resisted fudge temptation today. My husband's mom bought it. She also bought valentine's day cookies. Both are sitting on the table. I have eaten neither.

I was literally just thinking I should go pick up a bottle. I don't really get too hungry on this diet but I've read it can help accelerate weight loss. How do you take it? It probably tastes nasty as a shot. I thought maybe mix it with my water bottle in the am.
