The dissassociative part...I don't know if I experience this or not.
Is this part of it? I act or feel in ways that I can't believe it is me acting that way or what I am doing. Example: Yesterday I threw a tantrum in a shopping mart (I basically shoved all the groceries I was carrying into my boyfriends arms and stormed away) and as I was walking away I was thinking - Who am I? Why do I act that way? I quite often look at myself like this...questioning who I am or if I really did or said whatever it is I did or said. Do you have dissassociative episodes that you can describe? To help me to better understand in what context I should take this word or condition?

Dissociation is more like you're not really aware of what you're doing while it's going on. Like everything is in a fog, kind of.
For me, anyway, that's what it's like. It usually happens when I'm scared or anxious, not when I'm angry. But that's just me.

For me it's like the world isn't real anymore.

For me sometimes I zone out and everything feels unreal and other times I "black out" but remain consious.

I have the same thing. I always said: Everything feels so unreal. Like they had put a window between me and the world.
They told me it was more bpd related. isi it? |

I've been told my dissociation is because of PTSD. It makes sense because the same things that trigger flashbacks can trigger dissociation (and they usually come hand in hand).

I always thought dissociation was more related to BPD as well?
