I do. No major side effects for me and it gives me a little boost of energy. But as you know, everyone has a different reaction. I think some people say they get anxiety from it, but I haven't had that reaction. Good luck!

I have taken bupropion a lot over the years.
It can give me some energy sometimes.

As gina_re has mentioned, some people cannot tolerate it and may feel anxious or even start hypomania with bupropion. That has never happened to me.

Bupropion targets dopamine and has fewer effects on libido than SSRIs and other antidepressants.

I hope bupropion works well for you.

Hey yeah I take generic Wellbutrin (bupropion).
Best AD ever! Ok well actually it's the only one to do anything for me.
By itself it made me hypomanic and gives me bad insomnia where my body forgets how to sleep. But I take it with a mood stabilizer now and I think it keeps the bad depressions away.
My pdoc said it can exacerbate anxiety.
I don't think I have any bad side effects from it.
Good luck. I hope it helps you.

I take it. Got rid of zoloft's sexual side effects. Gave me insomnia at first. I finally worked through that. All is well now.

I take one in the morning and I'm usually good. I also get anxiety for no reasons, but that was one of my diagnosis, not sure if Wellbutrin contributed to it.

I've been taking it for about 6 months now and have no ill side effects or anything. As a matter of fact, my pdoc has increased my dosage from 100mg 1x/day to 100mg 2x/day, along with lamotrigine (lamictal) 150mg in the morning and 100mg in the evening.

Ok guys. So I was majorly depressed the last few weeks and today was the first day of taking it.

I have been in a really good mood because I haven't taken my lithium today but I just did so don't worry.

I noticed there is no sex drive (which is nice for once.) and I'm in a much better mood. It put me in a giggly hypomanic mood but with the lithium I'm sure it will level out.

Thanks to you guys for all the info!

Everyone is different, and so are their reactions to a given med. Me, well, buproprion made me manic, and I mean raging manic. I didn't know I was bipolar at the time or I would never have taken it without a mood stabilizer. I was pissed off all.the.time. I was just as likely to threaten people as look at them. It was awful, and then when I quit taking it I was a mushy, pathetic hot mess. Never again, even though I'm on mood stabilizers now.

I tried Wellbutrin for a short while a couple times and didn't like it. But when I decided to really give it a chance I found it helps my depression a lot. I did have irritability when I first went up to 300mg from my initial 150mg. When I dropped back down and came up again it didn't happen. I take 450mg of it--though I can't swear that the extra 150mg really adds much.

----response. Yes, pissed off all the time sure sounds familiar! I am going to try latuda in april instead of tegretol and wellbutrin.

I've had a good experience and have taken it for years. It has helped lift sexual side effects from an SSRI, as well as helped when I was depressed.

I haven't ever noticed the stimulating feeling some people experience, nor the increased ability to concentrate...and also many experience reduced appetite.
Thanks for this!

I like it. Wish I would be Rx 1000mg a day.
