If I'm not forced to get up for some reason I sleep 12-13 hours a night easily, sometimes more. I wonder if I have some kind of sleep disorder I sleep so damn much. What are your sleep habits like?

Last night, 3 1/2 hrs. Not good, and I’m getting hypomanic. I called the pdoc; he said to try3 of the tabs he gave me for sleep (clonodine, I think it is a blood pressure med also used for sleep by some pdocs). If that doesn’t work well, I am to call him again tomorrow. I really need to get this hypomania under control before it starts messing up my life. Trazodone and hydroxyzine and even Seroquel have stopped putting me to sleep

I pretty much sleep 6-8 hours for the most part. When I'm very symptomatic it can be less than 6 both up and down.

My sleep has varied throughout my life, but in the recent 12 months it's usually been a good and very normal 8 to max 9 hours per night, despite 450 mg Seroquel XR and some other mildly sedating evening meds. I take my meds early in the evening (7 pm) and it usually takes me between 4-5 hours to finally fall asleep. If I fall asleep later at night (1-3 am), I might only get 5 hours of sleep, or maybe 6 or 7 hours if it's the weekend. When my mood is a little elevated, I only sleep 3-5 hours. I haven't been elevated in mood much at all this past 12 months.

7-11 hours these days, with an average of 9 hours.

When I was on Seroquel, it was more like 12-13. Same with latuda. Too sedating. I'd also wake up with a hangover!

Most nights I get only 3-4 hours. If I'm lucky I'll get 1 7 hour night sleep a couple of nights per month. I get an 8 hour sleep once ever 2 years or so.

It's hell. I'm chronically exhausted. I take Nyquil cold and flu, it helps somewhat, I would sleep even less without it.

The doctors here will no longer prescribe sleep meds such as zopiclone long term . I don't want to go back on Seroquel because while I slept, that's all I did with it. Even at the lowest dose I was a complete zombie and I didn't give a **** about anything. Plus, I gained 70lbs in 6 months.

I'm cling religiously to my sleep hygeine, but it doesn't help much.

Right now I am sleeping three to four hours a night. When I am normal I sleep about 10 hours.

My sleep has been erratic the last 6 months especially after daylight savings. It's always been normal. I have trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep. My mirapex causes insomnia and I get 0-7 hrs sleep. Ambien doesn't work that well. My mind will run all night if I wake up.

10-14 unless I'm manic or hypomanic, then sleep is nearly impossible no matter what I take. I need more sleep on clozapine than on anything else I've taken. Right now I'm recovering from surgery and while I feel great overall I'm still very tired from that so often take a nap along with my night of sleep.

I miss working but am glad I'm not trying to fight to work on less sleep than this; I really NEED this much.

Ideally, I'll get 7-8 hours. Last night, I slept over 9 hours because I think I adjusted to being in the new place somewhat.

7-8 hours is my ideal too. I regret when I sleep more than 9, unless I’m sick, since it can cause depression. If I am sleeping less than 6, it’s a warning sign for hypomania.

I aim for 9, I get just under 7. It all depends on what time I have to get up for work in the morning.

5 I will be ok with for a night or two, but more than a couple nights if less than 5 and it's hypo time here too.

It varies. I have chronic fatigue. If I don't take my meds to wake me up, I could sleep all night and day. But I wake up frequently due to pain from medical issues, and sleep apnea. My sleep cycle is so off that I didn't go to sleep until about 2 am and had to be up at 5. So laid down this evening around 5, and slept hard til 8:30. If I have nowhere to go, I sleep throughout the day...even if I'd slept all night.

I'm not having a lot of success at keeping my sleep stable, so some nights I'll get a full 8-9; sometimes its a broken 4-5; and sometimes I take out the ambien and cheat to get a solid 8.

I've never slept well or reliably so to a certain extent I've been getting better at this task of sleeping over the last few months; trying to take it seriously.

It varies. I literally cannot get any sleep without Seroquel. When in a mixed state or manic, I'll get maybe 4-5 hours if I am still taking my Seroquel consistently, but that's with very broken sleep. Stress makes it the worst. When I'm doing a little bit better than that, it's usually anywhere between 5.5 hours- 9 hours. I know that's a really wide range. 7 hours is about average for me, but I can usually sleep 8-8.5 if I don't have work the next day. 8 hours is healthiest for me, and I've been trying to do better with turning electronics off by a certain time, and making more than an effort as much as possible.

I don't think I'd sleep, except for Seroquel. Being on the meds I'm on, I end up sleeping for about 10 hours. But I'm so tired, I force myself to get out of bed. I want to keep sleeping for more hours.

I believe that needing a lot of sleep comes from meds and from just the stress of having a mental illness. It's so hard on our minds and bodies.

I usually get 10 hours of sleep. But last night I only got 2 hours. No idea what's up with that.

Lately, an average of about 4 hours per night. I just started Ambien and I hope that helps.

Before medication it used to be anything between 4 to 14 hours depending on mood.

After Seroquel (400 mg): first two weeks an average of ten hours. After that it’s been between 8 and 9 hours. I do wake two or three times a night due to vivid dreaming, but I fall asleep again really fast. My sleep is really peaceful and I feel rested every morning. No hangover.

I really like being medicated most of the time. Every now and then I do miss being hyper and wonder if I’m getting dull. Lol, just feel so normal for the time being.

I usually get 8 hours, but my husband is up real early and sometimes I don't fall asleep after he leaves. My pnurse is looking taking me off of Lunesta, so my sleep may be more erratic later on. Ambien, Trazadone, and Doxepin don't work.
